Relearning Good Habits on a Budget

I'm a 27 year old cyclist and media junkie attempting to get back on track with my health. After losing at least 30lbs a mere 5 years ago, the scale has crept back up and it's time to shake that off.

I was a much healthier eater when I was more consistently employed and noticed an inverse to my financial situation and my health and I want to remedy it. I just completed a post-graduate degree that took away all my hard work at Spark People from last summer so now it's time to get ...

I was a much healthier eater when I was more consistently employed and noticed an inverse to my financial situation and my health and I want to remedy it. I just completed a post-graduate degree that took away all my hard work at Spark People from last summer so now it's time to get back on the horse and lose that weight again, third time's the charm!

The only reason I'm doing this is for me, nobody else.

My Goals:
- Take advantage of the gorgeous summer weather and walk/cycle as much as possible
- Eat fresher food, more vegetables and aim for more protein than carbs
- No Soda!
- Eat Breakfast!

Weight Goals
- 150 by July 15 ( )

Fitness Goals
- Find a gym (X)
- Cycle to work frequently (x)
- Complete a 5k run
- Begin weight training


My Program:
Cycle to work at least 3x a week which is about 16-20km per day.

Plan 2-3 healthy snacks per day.

Try to get at least 6 hours of sleep per night, no more sleep shortages!

Go to gym 3x a week, even for just 30 minutes.

Track as much as I can track!

Other Information:
I love movies, video games, books, cycling, drinking great beer (life is too short for bad brews) and swimming.

Unfortunately, it is that sort of attitude that prevents people from losing weight because they are, generally speaking, not going to burn off those 500 calories tomorrow!

I make my food tracker and workout tracker public so you can check out my food every now and again. Just go to the bottom of my sparkpage on the left hand side where it says "see my food and exercise log". Yesterday for protein I only ate 2 chicken breasts (4 oz @ lunch and 5 oz @ dinner) but normally I will put a scoop of protein powder in my oatmeal at breakfast, and have a tablespoon of peanut butter with celery or an apple as an afternoon snack but I didn't have time to snack yesterday. My carbs were a little high yesterday but honestly my food was all fresh fruits and veggies and whole grains, so I don't feel too badly about it. Hope you're having a great week! Cheers.
