I need to lose about 40 pounds. I signed up with a gym, and am determined to get my body to a point where I feel more energetic, look better, and have a LOT more muscle mass. Because you can''t out-exercise a bad diet, I''m going to concentrate on portion control and less processed food. Whole grain instead of white, no trans fats, and lots of leafy greens. Here goes nothing! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This is my second time around. When I was close to my first goal weight (155 pounds, my goal was 150) I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I gave birth to a beautiful little girl on April 28th 2008 and am now at the point where I want to try and lose the weight again. I didn''t gain that much during pregnancy but afterwards I went a little overboard and ate pretty much everything that wasn''t nailed down. So now it is time for common sense and some restraint, and I am ready to buckle down and do the work. Spark People works, I have been there and I know from experience. Here''s to losing another 35 pounds! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I am 37 years old, married and mom to a beautiful 11 month old baby girl. I am trying to lose 30 pounds because I want to be healthy and fit for my daughter. Since I am still nursing (yes lol, at 11 months) I''m not going to adher to the number of calories that SparkPeople gave me, I am adding 500 a day to their advised number. That''s the amount of energy it takes to breastfeed round the clock, which is what I do.

My Goals:
Losing 27 pounds by September 1 2012. Fixing the neverending urge to snack on junk foods like chocolate and chips. Most of all: being a good, active, fit, healthy role model to my three children.

Losing 30 pounds by February 16 2011. Eating healthy and staying active, and finding time for self care in spite of having two small children to care for.


Losing 36 pounds by May 1st 2007. Working on my physical condition by walking more.


My Program:
Eating in moderation, leaving out salty and/or fatty snacks, and trying to get more exercise.

I live in St. Catharines, Ontario, but I grew up in the Netherlands.

    I have been slacking on healthy choices too. emoticon I am working on doing better, though. Substituting fruits for desserts, aiming for at least 15 min of exercise per day, and really LISTENING to my body (am I REALLY hungry, or does the food just taste good?). Baby steps! emoticon

    Hey, speaking of babies...what's your little guy's name? My boy is Samuel. He just started crawling at the first of the month-too cute! Our older kids are completely smitten with him! They are 8 and 12. How old are your kids again?

    Hi. :) You were one of my first Sparkfriends way back in 2006 when I joined SP! And now I read on your activity that you had baby #3?! So did I! Last September I had a little boy. :) I still have 9-10lbs to lose but I'm breastfeeding and no matter how I eat, I am staying this one weight! Ha Oh well, they're only tiny once, and I aim to enjoy every minute! Hope you're doing well. :)
