Working to Live

Every day is a new challenge to live for. I always drink at least two of my 32 oz cup of water. I'm working on getting my left leg to work since it is not cooperating at the moment. I also work on maintaining the weight loss I've accomplished. Also to take the rest off.

I figure I survived two days of spine surgery that were both 8+ hours each day. For some reason I'm still alive so there must be a reason. For the next year I will be healing and working on getting stronger ...

For the next year I will be healing and working on getting stronger and losing the next 20-30 #'s. After that year I might be able to get the excess skin removed.

I still have good days and bad days that I work through. I also have nights that I am just to awake for my own good. So I work one day at a time and slowly climb towards the goal of being able to walk without my walker or cane. I want to get my Doberman puppy as my service dog so I can put a harness on her with a handle that will help me balance because I really hate my walker and my cane. I would also have to carry around my reacher to pick up what I drop. Instead of that I can teach her to pick up objects that I drop and to help me balance. She will also have a back pack that will be my purse so I don't have to carry one.

I figure I'm still alive so I get to live. I'll change my garden so I'll be able to work it and I'll still be able to grow my food and keep being able to do what I love. I'll just keep working on being capable as much as possible. Never say I can't do it. Always figure a way that I can do it. Thinking outside the box will always help.

More to come....

Patty

So sorry to hear you are hurting so much. I wish I was closer I have always been the one that took the pain away from others just by that healing touch. A Chiropractor once told me that you have to be born with hands like mine. You know it might be time to practice my long distance healing, maybe it will help you some. I don't know why healers always have so much pain. but we do. However it always seem to help me when I gave a massage, it kind of kept that energy flowing thru me. I guess that is why I try to reach out and touch people as much as I can. It also helps if I can be around the horses, being Sag I am half horse anyway, they feed my soul and make me smile. When I go to bed tonight and the world is quiet, I will work on you and see if I can help. Sending you love and light sister dear Blessed be Pat. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Patty, I had something happen today and I thought I would share. I was walking into the gym on my to the pool. A young lady saw me and ask if she could give me a hug. That sweet girl saw me struggling to put one foot in front of the other and told me how she admired my courage and gave me a hug. I almost was brought to tears. I have done this so many times myself. So I worked harder today, I'm going to get my legs back under me. emoticon emoticon

Hi Patty, I know what you mean about that PT hurting, but you got to do it. Last year when my legs gave out on me, my doctor wanted to send me to care place until I could walk,, but I made him send me home. Callie, my dog needed me. I did the work, even tho it hurt, oh did it hurt. I'm right there with you with being stubborn . We can do anything if we put our mind to it. It's part of who and what we are. We are healers and sometime we have to start with ourselves. We are so used to taking care of others, we tend to put ourselves last. So when it hurts, know I'm right there with you, you can do it, I know you can. We will ditch our wheelchairs and dance in the moonlight again. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad to hear you are home and doing well. I had a meniscus tear back in 2003 and have one now. But right now I'm trying hard to avoid another scope as it is on the same knee. But there are bone spurs on the joints so I might be looking at being scoped in the fall. Good Luck with your knee and I hope you continue to make good progress. emoticon emoticon
