Me, quite a few lbs ago. Thought I was huge then. Would love for my face to be this thin now.

Duke, my only baby still at home.

I have 10 pics in my gallery

Finally Getting It
I've been using SparkPeople since January 2010. I had four or five really good months and met my first 50 pound goal by my birthday. Now my progress and motivation have slowed down, and I'm fighting a different kind of fight. I've still got over 100 pounds to lose, but thinking about my goal in those terms is just too discouraging. I'm working on my next 20 now. I didn't start out with weight problems, but I think I've always had food problems. I ate terribly but stayed skinny by outrunning the weight. Then I had two kids in 18 months, my activity level stalled and the weight just piled on. Even with the extra weight my health was good and I had little trouble carrying on my daily activities. That ended in 2009. In a four month period, I developed a stress fracture in one foot and plantar fasciitis in the other and gained 20 more pounds from being in the cast and not being able to move as much as normal. That led to low back pain when I stood longer than 15 minutes, which kept me even more immobile. The scariest thing was that my blood pressure was out of control and I was seeing signs that it was doing permanent damage. Even with all that, I still couldn't find the spark of motivation that would get me started on another round of dieting. I found the spark after another scary episode with my blood pressure. Coming home from the clinic, I couldn't believe how close I was to weighing 300 pounds. I was not prepared to think of myself in those terms and was not willing to be that heavy any longer. All I had to do was figure out what I was going to do to lose weight. I found SparkPeople because I was searching on-line for an iPhone diet app. That lead me to SP, and I've been wading around up to my neck in all the good stuff here ever since. My foot and back pain are gone now, I'm sleeping well, have lots of energy, and can fit in an airplane seat without using a seat belt extender. I love to travel, so my progress rewards have been mini vacations that would not have been physically possible when I was heavier. I've got to keep going now because I have even more fantastic things planned as I continue to get back to being my skinny self.
