I struggled with my weight for years. I tried so many of the diets out there. They all seem to work for a short time, but then I get stuck and gave up and gained the weight back...
After two years of CONSTANT VIGILANCE (sound like Mad Eye, don't I?), I have managed to drop over 100 pounds.
While I'm still inherently lazy, I've found a few things that I really enjoy doing. Bicycling, hooping, spinning poi, and I'm even enjoying my running! (Yay for C25K!)
I think that's really the key, isn't it? Constant Vigilance - watching what I eat & keeping active. Now, that's not to say I don't let myself have treats (seriously, look up my flourless chocolate mug cake recipe); you need to have to occasionally let yourself have "bad" things, or you'll just obsess over them!
I follow what I like to call "Paleo Ranchero". (I guess you could call it "Primal" as well.) Veggies, some fruit, meat, nuts, very little grain, and cheese. It's pretty much a low-carb lifestyle, but not crazy low. I try to keep my carb intake between 100-150g a day. Some days are higher some days are lower.
I also have been Intermittant Fasting one to two times a week. Basically, I eat dinner then don't eat again until 1-2pm the next day. Then resume eating as normal.
My highest weight, around April 2010, was 304 pounds. I was unhappy, but didn't realize it. I've gone from a size 26 to a size 10.

Completed SF Progressive Marathon - with a final 5K time of 38:51
I rode in the Edible Pedal on September 18th, 2011. I didn't make the whole thing, but I did do 42 miles!
Completed Edible Pedal 2012 with a time of 5:15.
I also did my first 5K. It was the Foam Fest, a 5k obstacle course with BUBBLES! A lot of fun. It wasn't timed, and I didn't run, but I think we finished in about 55 minutes.
Finished 2012 5K Foam Fest in 46 minutes! Also, ran/walked the Run Amuck 2012 (2.5 mile obstacle course).
I. Can. Do. This.
I live in the Bay Area of California.
I am a costumer and enjoy going to Conventions. I adore going to concerts. I play World of Warcraft occasionally. I am addicted to Facebook. I'm the queen of the procrastinators! (If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done...)
I am a complete devotee of INXS. I've seen them live 19 times, and look forward to many more. I'm a "Timmy Girl" through and through.
I have a Harry Potter bathroom... (and a very large collection of HP stuff in general.)
I love movies and have a huge collection of DVDs.

My one piece of advice for a big T-shirt quilt (if you've never quilted before), is pick out a pattern that you can send through the machine. Like long, diagonal lines! I wish I'd picked long, diagonal lines! LOL
And if you want to hand-quilt, I am following a tip from someone else for beginner quilters. Pick a backing fabric with a pattern on it, and then stich along the pattern for a guide. My mistake was picking a really busy backing pattern. If you picked something with larger designs that were more spaced out, it'd probably be easier! Like fall leaves or tardises or enterprises or something.. Jo Ann's has a lot of great fandom fabrics. I'm not sure how big or small the pattern should be, but most of the straight line ones I see are 1x1 to 2x2 inch squares, so nothing too big I guess?

I've made my own bias tape before. I try to avoid it whenever possible! hah! I have a friend that owns the simplicity bias tape maker machine. It's like 50 bucks, but she says it's soooo worth it. You cut your fabric on the bias and then feed it through the machine, and it presses all the folds into it for you and spits out finished bias tape on the other side. I've been thinking about trying it, but I don't know if I sew enough to justify it, you know? 50 bucks is still 50 bucks!

Blizzcon! I'm so jealous!! I am thinking I may go next year. I have a friend who supposedly has a friend that can get tickets no matter what. If that's the case, I will definitely make a WoW costume! Don't think I'll do the contest, though.. I dunno :X I don't really compete anymore, and knowing that the costume contest is televised to all the at-home subscribers is kind of.. terrifying. :O

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for your comment on my blog. Even though 6 weeks is a long time, I really appreciate having some sort of time reference to look forward to feeling better!! Even if mine ends up being a little longer/shorter/whatever, it is nice to know your negative symptoms were gone in 6 weeks- that is encouraging!! It will keep me going to have an "end date" in sight! I hope you don't mind, I added you as a friend! I like that your food tracker is open- I like to peak to get ideas as I am slowly making better choices (eating more veggies, clean food, etc). OK hope you have a great day!
