Hi Smurfette! Welcome to SparkPeople!! This is a wonderful site with so many resources like articles, trackers, and community SparkTeams to help give you support and keep you motivated. See how many SparkPoints you can get each day and this will help you find and use many of the tools of the site. Good job creating a SparkPage as this is how you can have people post to you to help inspire you! Please remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. It is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. Welcome! The site just launched a new feature called spark coach and has a free 2 week trial going on- I would strongly recommend using it because it gives a great overview of the program and features!
For motivation, I think you should follow the spark plan and start small with a sparkstreak. Aim for 10 minutes a day or three times a week, once you reach that small goal you'll feel accomplished and inspired to set a new goal!
It's also more motivating to find something that you enjoy doing- you're more likely to stick with it that way.
Also check out the articles on motivation and goal setting- you'll find them under the healthy lifestyle tab.
How about joining some spark teams and spark challenges? You can find those under the community tab. They can be a great source for motivation and support!
