No turning back now!!
"I'm a 36 year old attorney, diabetic, married a year, and if I don't lose weight I'll probably die very early. I'm having a hard time with motivation since dieting and trying to lose weight has been my hobby since I was a kid. I just saw my doctor and he gave me a meal plan which I am going to need a LOT of encouragement to do, since I have failed at it before. Part of me wants to give up, but the majority of me does not want to die like my father did of diabetes, so I guess I'll do ...

I wrote that on 4/10/07, when I started on Spark. When I went to that doctor appointment I tipped the scale at 285 - not a number I'm proud of, and one that I disclose here only. I'm 42 now, and I realize that I have to do this to be healthy. I'm now wayyy down from that horrible number and still going, even if it is a little at a time. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Why do you think I'm doing this, my health? actually, YES!!!

My Goals:
To be under 200 pounds - whenever I get there, and never to return!!!!! To run a mile non-stop - the first and only time I ever did it was when I was 23 - the day before I got into the car accident which led to major weight gain and put me over 200 the first time in my life!
My Program:
Do some kind of exercise only on the days I eat (duh - that's every day!) Log on to Spark each day to keep my motivation up!
Other Information:
Dear Lord, please do not let the light at the end of the tunnel be a train!! It is sooooo cool to see my "ticker lady running" more than halfway across the ticker! Knowledge from a fortune cookie - NO ONE EVER DROWNED IN THEIR OWN SWEAT. Amen!
