so i joined sparkpeople about two years ago in 2006 and i stayed with it for almost half a year. i tried to make my own meal plans while living off of dining hall food during my sophomore year of college. lucky for me, my college had a really good dining system and a fabulous salad bar. however, they also had fabulous other things, like cookies... and french fries.
after going home for the summer, i was able to better control the food that was eating, but the second part of the equation ...

after going home for the summer, i was able to better control the food that was eating, but the second part of the equation (exercise) wasn't there this time around. it seemed that i could never get myself to do both. since that time ive been off and on sparkpeople, trying to get back into it. finally i realized that i just needed to use the meal plans provided and stop cheating on my exercise (walking to and from class should not have counted as my only exercise, especially when the gym was sooo close to my dorm).
so im back again. this time hopefully for the last time. ive been sticking closely to the meal plans and going to the gym (sometimes forcing myself to go to the gym). ive even found some work out buddies that i try to get to come with me more than just the two days a week they already go. (because most of the time i need their motivation or i wont go... im trying to break away from that because i know they wont always be there!)

ps. i'm also trying to stop biting my nails as part of adopting healthy habits!

My Program:
Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday:
- 30 minutes of cardio + lower body strength training

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
- 30 minutes of cardio + upper body strength training

Saturday:
- Rest day!

Ok I joined the team today :). Finals are this week for me so this past week I didn't do well. I wasn't able to go to the gym at all. :( But I have caught up on sleep this weekend so I think I'm ready to tackle everything this week :)

Hey :) Yeah I've always loved art. But that's neat how we both kind of have a similar major to one another lol. I love art history I almost changed my major to it this school year, but I'm so far along in the art education program I thought I would keep at it But I may go to Grad school for it.
