We each travel this globe on our own quest. As we travel, we cross paths of fellow travelers who touch our lives. As some leave us, we shake our heads and wonder why they were placed into our paths. With others, the journey together has been rich and rewarding and each are better for having been a so-journer.

May each be blessed with finding persons who will help them on their journey so that they reach their goals.

My Goals:
1. To take this journey "one step at a time."

2. To be kinder and gentler with myself and with others.

3. To remember the tortoise and that persistence pays off.

My Program:
Making a commitment is the first step.

Increased activity level and sensible eating are key.

Giving and receiving support from others who are also working toward a healthier lifestyle is imperative to sticking with the plan.

By March 31, 2014, I will weigh under 175 pounds and lost another 12 inches.

By June 30, 2014, I will weigh under 150 pounds and lost an additional 10 inches.

By December 31, I will weigh under 135 pounds and lost another 6 inches.

Personal Information:
I am the youngest of six children (3 boys and 3 girls), born in the great "Show-Me state" which is only one step from heaven.

Widow of a wonderful man who is very bright and who is so thoughtful of others. We have one son who has End Stage Renal Disease and I am his partner for home dialysis. Our dog is a party (white with black mask and spots bi-poo (bichon/poodle mix) and fills the house with much joy.

I love my church family and enjoy traveling, learning, volunteering, reading, writing, cooking, and scrapebooking.

Other Information:
My favorite verse is "Be ye kind, one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another as God, for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

I have the ingredients to make a fruit cake. Do you want to help make it? I use the Mrs. Harvey recipe. My mother always put some raisins in the mix and so do I. Makes it more moist. I make a 5 lb fruit cake and share it with my children. I should have made it in July so it would age.

I saw your blog about the gift fruit cakes and had to smile. Now we have control!

    Thanks.
Just today my sisters did a group text to figure out what to do for grandkids and great-grandkids that mom and dad usually bought gifts for. I'm hoping to make this Christmas memorable in a BEAUTIFUL way. Not sure where we are getting together. We usually have our family Christmas on New Year's Day. I have the largest home, so I offered, but we shall see.
Last Christmas Mom had only been gone for a week, but we made do for OUR sakes. Mom would have liked that.

I added you as a Friend today. You said you added me yesterday, but I can't find it on your page. You have so many friends!

I hope my eyes are not playing tricks on me.

    Thanks

Hi, I added you , too. Thanks.

Did you happen to notice through any of my posts, that I did home-dialysis for my mom? At first, I was sooooo stressed out, worrying if I was doing everything exactly right. But thankfully, it became almost second nature. Good thing. Because it seemed like Mom was beginning to forget some steps of the process and I had to correct HER!

Thank you for helping your son.
