I have been blessed with a fairly easy rehab from my hip replacement surgery. I have Home Health in twice a week and PT twice a week. I drink a lot of hot prune juice to keep constipation away and I love bran muffins. I am walking with a cane now and will soon be on my own. It will be two weeks on Monday that I had the surgery. I highly recommend it!! 1819 days ago
Oh!! I'm so glad you found a little relief. Just one more little pill..... (be careful of constipation.....hate to say it.....but it's a serious side effect of opiates, and you don't want to be caught by surprise. Ask the doc what to do to countereffect it).
Puppies are so much work....but when you see them, your heart melts! Have you posted photos? Sorry you had to put the older dogs down, but if they really didn't have quality of life, it was the humane thing to do. I imagine how much you must miss them.....
That's horrible! They must have stronger stuff for your pain! I'm on Fentanyl patches (opiate, also)....and I supplement it with oxycodone when I need it. You really shouldn't have to suffer - and undo the good that was done with your knee! Is there a pain management department in your hospital? They should be up to date on the latest pain meds. Suffering chronic pain myself, I'm hypersensitive to pain in others. Is it better just lying in bed or on the sofa? I'm so sorry ....... not a good way to begin the new year.
This is a way out thought.......I don't know much about hips (yet)....but it's a joint. Could they inject the gel they used on your knee to provide temporary lubrication in your hip?? Is that a crazy thought??
Hang in there, girl. Help is on the way. Just do the minimum - to avoid causing pain.......
Big hugs.. Libby
BTW--my Costco DOES have electric carts. I just never think to use them. The floors are concrete and very hard to walk on.....so I'm always in pain after a run-through the store..... 1879 days ago
