Enough is Enough

Hi .. I have spent way too many years being comfortable with my large size and due to pending health issues, I have decided to finally get my eating and health in order .. I really enjoy the sparkpeople web site although I am just new to it .. I like to participate.

Also, I have just gotten married this past June for the first time! I had my wedding on my 50th birthday, so now I count anniversaries instead of birthdays :)

I also have the extra challenge of being bipolar, so I have to struggle with medications that have side effects of weight gain as well as I have hypothyroidism .. so my challenges are great ... however nonetheless I still want to be healthy and be able to enjoy my future retirement years with my new husband.

Nice to meet everyone.

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true....action precedes motivation. You have to "prime the pump" and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
-Robert McKain

"Making changes in your life is never an easy task. The key, however, is not to get caught up in the distance you have to go to get to where you want to be. Nor should you despair over the amount of control you have over your circumstances. Progress is made in the small, intentional steps, and chances are, you have more power than you think. By focusing on little steps you can take every day, the progress you make will motivate you to continue your journey, and eventually, you can go wherever you want to go. The important thing is simply to begin."
-Stephen Cherniske

Just stopping by to say hello and to encourage you to keep moving towards your goals, Sparkfriend! Even baby steps add up if you take enough of them...and of course, you know you're worth the effort, right? I'm rooting for you!
Hugs,
Pixie

"The first step to living the life you want is leaving the life you don't want.
Taking the first step forward is always the hardest.
But then each step forward gets easier and easier.
Each step forward gets you closer and closer until eventually, what had once been invisible starts to be visible.
And what had once felt impossible starts to feel possible."

"Today is a new day. It's a day you have never seen before and will never see again.
Stop telling yourself the 'same crap, different day' lie! How many days has that lie stolen from you?
Seize the wonder and uniqueness of today! Recognize that throughout this beautiful day, you have an incredible amount of opportunities to move your life into the direction you want it to go.”
-Steve Maraboli

"I Can Do Anything - Starting Right Now. I have my dream, I have God,
and I choose to move in the direction of my goal, even when I am afraid or unsure. Whenever I fall, I stand up, brush myself off, and keep moving toward my goal."
