Nomadic life has provided unique challenges and plenty of adventure. I took advantage of hiking trails or simply walking wherever I needed to go when I worked within National Parks. This Fall 2016, we moved to Cashiers, NC to work at a country club. For whatever reason, I've been less active here and gained back a lot of weight I've lost.

I'm 39 years old, and will be 40 in June. Although I may not reach my ideal weight by that time, I'm committed to beginning the process AGAIN to lose weight and make healthier choices. My fitness journey begins today.

My Goals:


My Program:
Whole Foods with focus on fresh foods, organic when possible.

Low-Carb, Low-Sodium, Low-Cholesterol, and Low-Sugar.

Exercise:
Walk 5x a week minimum for at least 30-60 minutes*.

Other cardio with focus on toning, endurance, etc. 3x week.

Strength training 3x a week.

Stretch daily to help with pain issues and achieve greater flexibility.

*I will also include hiking and backpacking. Also, as I drop weight, I may do intervals of light jogging in my walking routine, and I also want to try doing a little trail running.

Diet:
I want to use the Food Tracker as my daily food journal and record how foods make me feel, what agitates heart palpitations, spikes blood sugar, etc. I want to eliminate foods that hurt my overall health.

I want to overcome caffeine and sugar addictions, and also eliminate processed foods & refined carbs, etc. from my diet.






Personal Information:
I'm a mixed-media artist from Indiana, married to my best friend for 15+ years who never hesitates to tell me I'm beautiful no matter how much weight I've lost or gained. I volunteer my time and resources helping charities in East Africa. I enjoy hiking with my husband and a local backpacking group. I have dreams of being a nomadic artist at some point in the near future.
