Choices for Change

I want to lose weight so I can be a healthy Mom with lots of energy for my little guy! I also want to be attractive, sexy and healthy for my hubby. He deserves it too!


I have struggled with my weight my entire life. i have been successful in the past, but years of infertility, adoption stress followed by a recent miscarriage have taken their toll. I feel I have made some self discoveries along the way that I hope will help me (see my blog).

I am committed to getting there. This may take me a lifetime, but I won't give up. I need to focus on the joy in the journey and celebrate each positive choice, because each choice builds on another good choice, and another which gets me closer to my goals. Each positive choice also helps give me confidence to continue, when I focus on the progress I'm making rather than the end goal.

Getting back on track this month... trying to get a handle on my depression and anxiety and get out of my perfectionist mode and learn to live this one good choice at a time.

My Goals:
Short term goal -
1) to get in activity consistently every day
2) and stay within my calorie range by making healthy food choices
3) Consistently track my my food intake in the fitness tracker and with fitbit
4) to lose 10% of my weight as a first weightloss goal

Long term goals:
to get back on track and to lose 69 pounds by bringing back healthy food choices, exercise and a positive state of mind. I will accomplish this by:
1.) staying within my calorie range by making healthy food choices, getting in 4-5 fruits and vegetable servings a day and tracking my food intake in the nutrition tracker
2)By increasing activity incrementally until I am exercising 30 minutes at least 5 days a week and tracking steps and minutes of exercise with my fitbit and the fitness tracker
3.) by utilizing SparkCoach each day
4.) by gaining motivation through articles, blogs and spark teams

My Program:
Sparkpeople caloric guidelines; tracking with nutrition tracker and Fitbit; working out on my treadmill or an outdoor walk and doing toning exercises

Personal Information:
wife; mother; career woman; stress eater; lover of junk food; hater of exercise



Other Information:
This may be difficult to do, but I have found it is more difficult to live a life without doing it!

Losing weight is hard!

I am new to SparkPeople and stumbled upon your page. You seem very similar to myself. I too am a wife, mother (have had miscarriages too, but we made it through and now have a precious daughter through adoption), career woman, and food lover/exercise hater. LOL...we have much in common. I look forward to reading your blogs and hearing about your successes on here. Seems like you are doing all the right things. Keep it up!
