Joe and me Christmas time 2005.
Hi, my name is JoAnn and this is my 3rd time trying this. I always backed out before. But this time, God willing, I am going to stick to it.
The year 2008 was bad for me. I lost my son in April and I was like a zombie for a while. I still miss him so very much. But I know he is in a better place. Then December 11th, I had back surgery. It took me a while to get over that of course; I didn't get to exercise much at all that year. But thank the good Lord, I am doing much better now and looking forward to eating right, doing my exercise faithfully, and go on with my life.
I am from Augusta, GA, have a wonderful husband and have children, stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom I love very much.
I am 70 years old and at last I finally I told the Lord that it was up to Him. I am not going to do diet pills or anything else but try my best to eat healthy and continue to exercise, and I pray that His will be done for me. Not wanting to be unreasonably skinny, but want to get to a healthy weight and size. And with His help, I will make it. Looking forward to SparkPeople and the tips and hints from other Sparkers.
My goal is to eat healthy and to exercise regularly and do my best to be what God wants me to be. I say that I would like to get to 145 pounds, but if I don't and I do get to where the Lord leads me, then I will be happy. I want to get even closer to my Lord and Saviour.
I am finally getting to the point that I look forward to exercising. Riding my stationary bicycle is one thing that I do. And now I am interested in doing "band" exerises. I would like to get back to my treadmill also. Sometimes it seems there is not enough time in the day.
My name is JoAnn and I am 70 years old and live in my hometown of Augusta, GA.
I no longer work as I was laid off in January of 2008. Now I realize it was the best thing for me. I am enjoying taking care of my house, cooking, laundry and whatever comes up. For almost a year I couldn't do those things. My son passed away in April of '08, then I had back surgery. But my daughter Beverly stayed with us during that time; don't know what I would have done without her. She worked so hard in my house keeping it up for me.
It is just my hubby and me now and we are enjoying being by ourselves. We have been married 17 years (we both have been married before and have children) and believe it or not, we have not had one serious argument in all that time.
I love to read my Bible and I do that while I ride my bicycle.
We love to sit out on our patio and watch the birds and squirrels play. Also my hubby has a humming bird feeder and we love to watch them zip in and out.
My favorite verse in the Bible is Proverbs 3:5, 6. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths."
