If you don't set a goal, how will you ever know when you reach your goal?

So, my list of the strategies I will be using to reach 175...by .Nov. 2013
1. Eat a lot more veggies & fruit.
2. Limit unhealthy food and keep tracking on SP.
3. Exercise.....
4. Sleep better, with a little leg & waist exercises before sleeping, because insomnia and weight loss don't work together.
5 Go to bed earlier to avoid food temptations at nite and because my body likes to get up early.


Well I've been around for 3 years now. The initial 20 lbs. are off again. Way back in the beginning: The harder I tried the more challenges I faced- I have persevered despite no losses showing on the scale and learned to see other measures of my success. Being diabetic, my blood sugar is a major indicator of successful results. When I started on SP, my bs were in the 13-15 range for early a.m, now I have my AIC go down to 6.9, and I'm still here and getting motivated again. So, there are successes other than on the scale.

My Goals:
To get my sugars under control with diet and exercise so I don't have to take any more meds or go on the needle for as long as I can avoid it.

Dec. 09 - a.m. bs was 13
Feb. 10 - a.m. bs was 7.8
May 10 - a.m. bs. was 6.1
July 2013 AIC - 6.9


My Program:
Do Walk around the reservoir 4 laps with some jogging at least 5 times a week.

Track calories and stay with SP range...

I love to read, knit, crochet, and read.
I'm a gramma of 4, ages 18, 16, 9 and 7 y.o.'s... and new g.d. born in April, 2011 - none of which I have seen in over a year.
I love a variety of food and am always looking for new recipes and have already found lots here that I really like.

    Hi Lila! Indeed, I hike and go away by myself. I have discovered that if I keep waiting for someone to go away with me, or go hiking with me, then I'll never do anything! :) I am enjoying hiking alone tremendously!

    It went to 61 degrees here today, with sun and little wind. Of course tomorrow it is a rain/snow mix.

    If you need a partner to travel with, I'd suggest going on a tour, where you have about 40 people in a group. In fact, some tour companies will sign you up with another person who wants to share a double room, so it saves you money. I also have read that there are web sites where you can sign up and you can list your name and find a partner to travel with. I remember when I was in high school an older lady who wrote to a number of Presbyterian churches asking if there was another widow who would want to travel with her and she found a lady in our town. Back then they went on a tour bus out of Southern Illinois.

    Hi! Glad your brother was helpful; sorry about the pizza. I don't resist that at all.

    I made grilled chicken, breaded chicken, and bbq chicken. Trying to make better lunches for me and Steve. Lunch meat is bad for his kidney stones and yogurt no longer agrees with me(think that lactose intolerance has kicked in).
