SlimLila - where I wanted to be in 2010 & 2011

If you don't set a goal, how will you ever know when you reach your goal?

So, my list of the strategies I will be using to reach the 20# gift to myself....by June 22, 2011.
1. Eat a lot more veggies & fruit.
2. Limit unhealthy food and keep tracking on SP.
3. Exercise..... try to get up in early a.m. and do the 1 mile walk, and then the 2 mile walk later on...
4. Plan to do 15 miles of walking a week (so not every day, but at least 5 days)

5. Figure out how to sleep better, because insomnia and weight loss don't work together.
6. Go to bed earlier to avoid food temptations at nite (or brush teeth when a craving comes on)

Goal - measurable, reasonable, and accountable - how's that for a start?
I also took the next step, print this off and put it on fridge, and bathroom mirror, and beside the bed.

Well I've been around over year now. The initial 20 lbs. have not all come back, but most of them have. Way back in the beginning: The harder I try the more challenges I face- everything from a bout of bursitis, to strange unexplained pain in my right arm, gallbladder attacks and too many to mention trips to the city and town and dinners out - all of which making eating a huge challenge. I have persevered despite no losses showing on the scale and learned to see other measures of my success. Being diabetic, my blood sugar is a major indicator of successful results. When I started on SP, my bs were in the 13-15 range for early a.m, now I have seen 6.1- FANTASTIC! I have a dr. whose very proud of me for lowering my AIC by a whole point in about 3 months, then over the next 3 months I dropped it another point, then things went south for awhile, but I'm still here and getting motivated again. So, there are successes other than on the scale.

Hey Lila. Let me just copy and paste what I wrote on the status. Let me know if you try it and what you think:

Really simple! Finely grate 1 cup of cauliflower (about 90g), mix in one egg and a dash of salt. On a bit of baking paper, divide it out into 2 and spread them out to make 2 flat-ish circles. Bake in the oven at Gas Mark 5 (375 degrees) for 10 minutes, flip it and cook for another 7 minutes. And voila. If you want them a little bit crispy, heat a tiny bit of EVOO or coconut oil in a pan and lightly fry on each side. They come out like wraps. SOOOO yum!

Hiya. Yes I made the cauliflower tortillas myself! They are so amazing. Have a look at my comment underneath the status and I explain how I made it. So simple. And awwrrr thanks for much for saying I'm beautiful! Put a massive smile on my face! Hope you've had/having (depending on where you love and what it is) a great day x

Buddy's a cutie! I read Nicholas Sparks and Danielle Steel, too. I also like Janet Evanovich and Nora Roberts. I did get taken out to lunch today. We made it to the restaurant at just the right time. We get a seat right away and then it got crowded. We're watching the baseball game right now. One minute the sun is out, one minute it's sleeting. I need to go on my exercise bike for awhile but am not feeling too ambitious.
