Ready to Change

I'm tired of my jeans being tight, my belly haning out, and feeling slow and unable to do things! It's time for a real change, and a permanent one! My goals are to get slim and fit!

Goals:

Track my food and weight, try to eat healthfully, and get exercise daily, even if it's just 10-15 minutes.

I'll look better in my clothes and I'll certainly feel better, not having to carry that extra weight.

Rewards? Losing weight and getting back into ...

Rewards? Losing weight and getting back into some old clothes will be a huge and wonderful reward in itself. But along the way, I should reward myself for "good behavior" and losing weight.

My Goals:
I'm going to be in the best shape of my life! I want to be healthy! I want to be active and agile. I want to look good in my clothes and feel good. I want to have a lot more ENERGY!!

My Program:
My goal is to exercise and be active regularly, and to eat within my calorie range by not eating out so much (which eats all my money too) and tracking it on here. Try to exercise 5 days a week and at least get a couple of days of weight training.

Personal Information:
I'm Alison, I'm going to college for viola performance. Some days I'm at school all day long, like 12-13 hours sometimes...oui. And of course, I'm surrounded by vending machine junk food and fast food restaurants on campus which is a huge struggle for me at times. Fortunately though there is a nice gym on campus and a swimming pool!

Other Information:
I love books! I like to sew, draw, and play music!

Hey Alison! How have you been? I just wanted to let you know that the Louisville Losers group is having a chili potluck tomorrow at Vettiner Park and we would love to see you there! You can check out the picnic sign up thread on the team page if you're interested. I hope everything is going well for you. I meant to ask if you will be doing any recitals this semester or next? My husband has to attend some so I thought we might go to yours if you will be giving one!

I'm actually finding that I like the weight room too. Once I got over my fear of all the guys watching me workout I realized that if they are watching it's probably just cause they're shocked to actually see a girl in there lol

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, my husband is in the School of Music. He was just accepted a few weeks ago. Right now he is just taking some gen ed classes but next semester he will be taking mostly music classes. He will be a composition major and he plays percussion. I don't go to U of L, but Bobby can't drive so I have to take him to and from class. Sometimes I use the treadmill or elliptical in the SAC after I drop him off. I'll actually be there this morning. It sounds like your doing pretty good! Keep up the walking. We're having beautiful weather for it. And when you get that Go Fit monitor thing let us know how well it works. Have a great day! Talk to you later!

Hi Alison! Welcome back to SparkPeople and to Louisville Losers! I saw that you are going to school for music performance. I was wondering if you are going to University of Louisville? We just moved to Louisville so my husband could go there. He's also a music major. Sometimes I go to the gym on campus too. I just wanted to say hi! Good luck with all of your goals. If you use the site and the tools and everything it will really help a lot. Try not to feel overwhelmed, just go at your own pace and you'll figure it all out. 2 pounds a week is a very achievable goal. I've been losing 2.5 pounds a week for almost 10 months now. Keep up the good work!

Michele

Hi! I stumbled upon your page because you posted on RAZBERRYSNAPPLE's page. I've been trying to find a group of gals who have similar weight loss goals and who are in the same general age group as me --- and, well, you fit that profile :-) I'm going to go on and add you as a friend, so that I can keep up with your progress a bit easier. I think you've got a great plan going with just slowly making positive changes! Good luck and don't be a stranger! :o)
