I'm not Who I Was

I'm a redheaded, twenty-something with a B.S. in Mathematics. I focused on school for too long, ending up gaining a lot of weight and developing extremely unhealthy habits. As I near the end of my college career (I'm about to receive a Master's degree), I'm finally trying to focus on myself and being healthier inside and out.

As I near the end of my college career (I'm about to receive a Master's degree), I'm finally trying to focus on myself and being healthier inside and out.

I began working out, eating better foods, practicing yoga, and meditating in June 2012, after ending a year and a half relationship. I was at my heaviest, 173 pounds, and most miserable. As I write this (January 2013), I've lost 31 pounds, and I feel incredible physically and emotionally!

My longterm goal is to get my weight to around 120 pounds and keep it there. I would love to be at 130 by March 9 for my brother's cruise wedding.

I do pretty well 3 weeks out of the month. It's generally the last week that my attitude towards food and exercise changes. Last week just happened to have extra's that piled on.

I like your idea of thinking of healthy living as the key to happiness. For me, I'll have to make it the key to happier living since I'm a pretty happy person 99% of the time. emoticon

thanks for checking out and leaving a comment on my blog.
i live in the eastern part of kentucky and we went to visit the great smoky mts and pigeon forge.
its about 3 hours from us.
i really look forward to a return trip in the late fall after the leaves change and the weather is cooler and maybe, i will have some more pounds gone and be able to walk alot more.
my "someday my dream will come" goal is to walk to the top of clingmans dome in the smokies.
