As a fat kid, fat teen, fat adult, I dreamed of being a normal weight. Well, finally, I'm 80+ lbs below my all time high; 50 pounds below Dec. 2008 weight. In 2009 I achieved healthy BMI 25. My Goals:
* Maintain 80+ pound loss with 129 pounds as the center of my goal weight range
* Focus on eating sensibly, healthy foods enjoyed with dignity.
* Keep on running for fun and fitness! Enjoy any age group awards without stressing for them.

.5 Mile=4:01 (12/21/13)
1 Mile = 8:47 (4/13)
5K = 27:33 (4/13/13)
10K = 1:01:13 (3/16/13)
HM =2:26:02 (11/24/13)


My Program:
Clean SWEEP:

Clean = eat with dignity
S = 7-8 hrs sleep
W = 8 glasses water
E = eat healthy
E = exercise 6 times/wk
P = persistence






Personal Information:
67 years old, almost 5'6", maintaining around 135 pounds. Retired social worker-grant writer-nonprofit administrator. One adult daughter. I keep my two darling granddaughters 6 days a week when my DD & DSIL work. Weigh less right now than I did in junior high. Have struggled with weight all my life. My 7th year of maintenance has been my most challenging one so far, but I'm definitely not giving up!!


Other Information:
You don't have to be perfect to succeed, but you do have to be determined. Never, never, never give up!

    Hey Girl! My Relay Partner was in the Hospital for severe stomach virus until 3 hours to race time. I had a hamstring pull and was so motivated, I was focused on doing my partner proud. Went directly to get my leg worked on. Sorry I missed you.

    I'm still dithering over the 2018 schedule, myself. Galloway wants a 35 week training cycle for a full, which means if I wanted to try to do Space Coast as a full, I'd have to be starting training... on sign up day! If training went badly, I understand you can drop back to a half.

    What's competing with it? Well, we have the Des Moines marathon in October, if I wanted to do a closer to home full. Clearly not going to do both that one and Space Coast.

    And, of course, there is the triathlon season... I start a small group 8 week base training cycle for that tomorrow. Right now, I'm in Lincoln Murdoch's "zone 2"... starting to lay out the plans, and determine how hard I have to be training WHEN. Just signed on for a 10K in March. And I've been contemplating the Flying Pig in Cincinnati in May.

    Pace yourself, Barb, you just started feeling strong and whole again, don't press your luck. But it would be great to see the Florida crowd again!
