As a fat kid, fat teen, fat adult, I dreamed of being a normal weight. Well, finally, I'm 80+ lbs below my all time high; 50 pounds below Dec. 2008 weight. In 2009 I achieved healthy BMI 25. Then with SparkPeople I was able to achieve BMI 21, a weight I "always" wanted! Check out my SparkPeople Success Story: (copy + paste) http://www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?p

Yes. It is great that we can continue to improve our health for years. My mom was one of those people that defied odds, living much longer than expected given her medical challenges. There were so many times that we thought "this is it" and she'd bounce back.

Yeah. I've been taking this return to running very slow. It will be 10 months before I lace up my sneakers and approach a starting line. Most Couch to 5k programs I've seen have a much faster timeline than 10 months.

Oh, I've been capable of running the distance for months now. But, racing it? No way!

Thank you for reading my blog and your kind words! If I can inspire folks that is great. And you inspire me with 9 half marathons. WOW!!! Have you worked with a personal trainer for the strength work? that might help with the injuries.
