As a fat kid, fat teen, fat adult, I dreamed of being a normal weight. Well, finally, I'm 80+ lbs below my all time high; 50 pounds below Dec. 2008 weight. In 2009 I achieved healthy BMI 25. Then with SparkPeople I was able to achieve BMI 21, a weight I "always" wanted! Check out my SparkPeople Success Story: http://www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?p

You won't miss me because I WILL check in with you every day...not taking a scale so have to account to you for food and accountability. Only for 3.5 days.

Wanted to add to my last comment that while I may not always go to the team page to 'like them' I do read your 'Beck reminders' in the notifications I get of wall posts on the Beck team and I really like them, they serve as nudges for me to 'think straight'!

You are so sweet to offer! Right now,my therapist is working with me on going up one step repeatedly. I was able to do 5, take a break and do 5 more. When I told her that I did 30 at less than two weeks post op she was unpleasantly surprised. I have to give her credit, all she said, "No, no, no, no, no! That is definitely not what I would have done!" I thought to myself, no wonder my thigh/hip area is so swollen and burning! I have to be able to go up and down the steps at the Y before I can get in the water. I am,working hard to strengthen that leg. I think the water would help the swelling go down too. The good news is that, fingers crossed, the medicine the doctor gave me stops the burning nerve pain about two hours after I take it! Now if I don't get any nasty side effects, it will be awesome! It made therapy much easier today. I am trying to get around using two canes. My leg is tired but that could just be from walking after all of those exercises. Baby steps, baby steps.
