Maintaining 80 Pound Loss with SP & Relentless Determination!

I'm 80+ lbs below my all time high and I've lost over 50 pounds since Dec. 2008. In 2009 I achieved a healthy BMI 25. Then with SparkPeople I was able to achieve BMI 21, a weight I always wanted!

Clean SWEEP:

Clean = eat with dignity
S = 7-8 hrs sleep
W = 8 glasses water
E = eat healthy
E = exercise 6 times/wk
P = persistence



Personal Information:
65 years old, 5'6", 127-131 pounds. Retired social worker-grant writer-nonprofit administrator. One adult daughter. I keep my two darling granddaughters 6 days a week when my DD & DSIL work. Weigh less right now than I did in junior high. Have struggled with weight all my life, but I just may have it now!!

Other Information:
You don't have to be perfect to succeed, but you do have to be determined. Never, never, never give up!

They Did Their Share

On Veteran's Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it's been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn't.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don't let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can't repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let's say "thank you" to every wearer.

Take a moment this weekend on Monday at 3 PM and say a silent prayer for all of our "heroes". Freedom isn't free and only by their great sacrifice are we able to enjoy the many freedoms each and every day.

I think this is a great attitude for all of us. Even when we don't want to do something, we can talk ourselves into walking a little father, doing a few more crunches, taking one less bite, it is all up to us.
