I started my weight loss journey on April 16th 2008 after returning from vacation with my family over Spring Break. (Amazing what pictures will tell you!) I've had to make a really hard change with putting myself first over everything and everyone else. Once I realized this, the focus on my weightloss journey has been easier. I hold myself VERY accountable for my actions and reaching my goals. I reward myself "ALL THE TIME" now because I deserve it! I've worked HARD, nobody said it was ...

Yes, I've hit bumps in the road along the way, but the end goal is my focus....Just keep on keeping on and being CONSISTENT is the most important part of this journey.... Yes, we all have a bad hour, bad day, maybe even a bad week, but get back on track ASAP! It's consistency that is KEY TO SUCCESS!
A HUGE part of my success is attributed to all my family, friends, spark friends and this website. I was determined and driven. I am constantly trying to learn something new about eating clean and working out. It is really nice to see someone that I haven't seen in a couple of months and they tell me "I don't even recognize you!" I love that feeling....makes it even more worth the sacrifices I have made along the way to be a healthy person..... I EAT TO LIVE INSTEAD OF LIVING TO EAT! I often tell that person, THANK GOODNESS! hehehe
I hope my page encourages some of you along the way....I know I learn something new everytime I read one of your pages, posts, comments etc. Be your own teacher and absorb every piece of morsal you can from sparkpeople.com Our bodies are not all equals, so what works for me may not neccessarily work for you...but through trial and error, you'll figure out your groove and reach those goals you have set. Failure is for those that give up too EARLY!
You are in charge of your own destiny, make it the best it can be and you'll never feel like you failed.
Some have called me obsessed with my workout routine. Well, guess what? I was tired of being FAT! I knew I had to work HARD! If it were so easy, everyone would be doing it! I expect results....and they don't happen overnight! I knew I had to keep moving more and eating less or the weight would never come off....All we have to do is maintain a calorie deficit and the weightloss equation will work!
I read a quote the other day on another website and had to quote it here.... "Obsessed is a word that the lazy use to describe the dedicated!" Boy, you have to live it to understand that one!
Never, ever give up on yourself or dreams and know in your heart you put 110% into everything you do in life. I believe you manafest your dreams...It takes the WILL to do it.... The only ones that fail are the ones that give up! Girl, don't give up! I'm cheering for YOU!
I have taken some measurements since I began Weight Training. I know from experience that when you add weight training to your already pumped up cardio routine, you will see the scale move SLOWER but the inches move FASTER! I really wish I would've measured starting in April of 2008...It would be nice to know where I REALLY STARTED!!! But, back then I couldn't even make myself get next to a tape measure, let alone actually use it!!!

9/23 Overall - Lost 12 pounds (wow, I'm really shocked...well, shouldn't be, this was before I really started watching my sodium intake...probably retaining a lot of water) and 9.5 inches!!! WOOHOO!
10/17 Update - lost 4.5lbs more....sorta a slow weightloss month for me...that's ok...i've been hitting it hard on the weights!
11/6 Wearing my size 6 jeans loose today.....still carrying some weight in my upper back, shoulders, and arms...this is always the last place to come off so I'm expecting to see progress in the next month. Looking to reach my goal of 135lbs by my birthday on January 6th 2009. Sooner rather than later would be nice too!
11/24 138lbs! Traded in my size 6 jeans for SIZE 4! Woohoo!
12/5 139lbs! Wearing Size 3's, 4's and a pair of 1/2's - Feel really good about my size....Not stressing over the weight....Focused on BODYFAT % Baby and building muscle! Back to my regular workouts at the gym (still taking easy on legs (no Squats!)) and taking a lot of cardio classes! Incorporated the stairmaster into the end of my workout for that final sweaty feeling before I leave the gym:)
1/6/09 Still at 139lbs, HOWEVER, dropped bodyfat by 3% - I'm sooo good with that!!! Also, I changed up my workout and added 15mins of stairmaster to the end of every workout....I truley believe that this directly impacted the 1.5 inch loss on my hips this past month!!! I added an interval at intensity of 11 for a total of 15 mins...every min I change direction of stepping...with half stepping up sideways....(yes, I look crazy doing this and it took a lot of balance in the beginning) I can even tell my inner thighs are firmer!
JEANS! Wearing a solid 4 loose and a solid 2 for weekend wear...(yes, tight!) hehehehe, those Tan Pants I'm wearing in my Dec 20th pic are size ZERO's!!!! They are Ann Taylor (probably run big) but STILL, the tag says "0" WOW!!!!
Went BRA shopping yesterday and I'm in an unfamiliar territory......see at 200.5 lbs I wore a 40DD (probably should've been a DDD) And that was also a minimizer!!!
OK, now, I can fit in a 34C - I don't think when I developed boobs I wore a C cup....For as long as I can remember, I have always struggled between a 36D (at best) till the grandma size above....So, I am struggling a bit with this....especially since I have already seen a dr back in October 08 for a reduction....Don't think I will qualify nor do I really want to....They just need to be put back up there! hehehehe
So, for the record, I did reach 134 lbs on December 12th...SURPASSED MY GOAL WEIGHT TARGET!!! The day I left for my girls weekend trip...however, it's been downhill since then! Between Christmas, New Years, and my Birthday....well, I am very happy with my weight (139) and even happier with the bodyfat % loss....so I am not sure about the whole scale thing and my weight....oh, don't get me wrong, I will still weigh everyday! hehehe
3/6/09 - Still wearing the same jeans and tops....Little bit higher in weight...need a bodyfat measurement...it's been 2 months since the last one. I like to get one every month if possible. Very happy with my size and weight...hitting it hard on glutes and hamstrings (twice a week) for strength training...trying to get my legs evened out for summer! woohoo! Really buckling down on my diet for spring break in April which will be my one year anniversary for starting this transformation!
4/3/09 - All my clothes still fit me...I am noticing though that my jeans are a little looser in the waste. The measurements I took today don't really reflect a loss, but I feel tighter in my clothes....And I am not saying my clothes feel tight, but my body does. I am really encouraged by the way I feel after taking the Pilates Reformer training. Overall, I feel "zipped up!"
I've been buying summer clothes lately since NONE of mine from last year fit! I know have 6 bathing suits...OMG...I have never owned that many at one time! I have decided the cutesy 2 pieces are a dime a dozen everywhere and you can pick them up for alot less $$$ than a size 16 bathing suit...(which is what the blue one is in my before pic)
4/23/09 - Wow is all I can say! I changed a lot up since March. Started reformer training in addition to cardio and weights. Began cutting carbs at 3pm in prep for spring break and phat camp. (in addition to eating 100% clean except cheat meal on friday nights!) My bodyfat has dropped below my original goal...yes, time for a new goal! Always seeing how far I can push it!!! Past couple of weeks I have had people ask me if I compete or if I am a bodybuilder professionally? WOW, ME? I always start to tear up...if they only knew where I started just at a year ago. Jeans are even looser in the waist....I can fit into some "B" cups (yes, this FREAKS ME OUT) check out my blogs for my vacation and phat camp experiences!
5/16/09 Wow, this 100% clean eating really does work! I've cut out the alcohol...(no margaritas like in forever!) cut out the high fat mexican! really focused on eating really, really good since this past March! I can so tell a difference. (check out my food tracker to see what I'm eating) I also changed up my training at the gym after coming back from Phat Camp. Adding interval training in between my weight lifting....Heart rate is constantly elevating then lowering providing a better fat burn!!! Decided to do a figure comp in July... Very excited about this!!!Clothes are definitely getting looser in the waist...still fit in the legs area...that's ok! LOVE LOVE LOVE My pilates reformer training that I take 2x's a week. I really feel this is a great add to any workout regimen and strongly suggest spending the money on it. If you goto gold's (my gym) make sure to let Christie know I referred you...You want to take it with her! She is AWESOME!!!!!
6/26/09 - 3 weeks and 1 day out from my first figure comp! WOW! I am sooo pumped about this! I get my suit tomorrow!!! I will post my pics after the contest is over. Let's just say my butt is getting kicked from one end of the gym to the other! I am getting trained by the PRO herself!! AND HER TEAM!!! I know that my eating, training, and sleeping routine cannot stay like this forever...but boy do I like my body right now! I have NEVER in my life seen a 6 pack on me...like EVER! In my mind I have already won my comp! Just getting to this point to even compete makes me a winner...I'm still focused, positive, and determined to bring home a trophy! LOL Well, hope my hubby has one for me in the audience after the show if I don't earn it on my own on stage! hehe! ;)
What a journey it has been thus far...It's only going to get better! Live your LIFE and follow your DREAMS! I'm cheering for YOU!
7/24 Wow, what a weekend it was last weekend in Charleston for the Jen Hendershott's All Women's Weekend! It was a show just for Bikini, Figure and Fitness! What an awesome venue and JEN really took care of all the details! We had an actual Dressing room with a counter, Mirrors, lights. It even had showers for after the show! I washed off that top layer of spray tan right away before heading out the door to the After party! Check out my youtube videos... search on onephitmama Also, pics up at hardbody.com and bodybuilding,com It was such an adventure! Posting new pics here on sparkpeople too! Took 3 days off, now hitting it back at the gym. 3 weeks out from my next comp. This one is LOCAL! Excited to see how I do and have all of my support group there to cheer me on! My MOM is so excited!
2/11/11 - Since July 2009, I toggle between a ZERO and a TWO.... Yes, everything is still TIGHT! My suits for work are size 2's... I may look HUGE (muscular) in pics, but when you see me in person, I'm a lot smaller than you think. I'm currently 5 weeks out from my next comp on 3/19/11
