My goal is really to get back to enjoying the same active lifestyle I did 7 years ago.
It was easy to maintain a good fitness level and weight when I was running 60+ miles a week. Working from a nearly hundred pound surplus has proved to be surprisingly difficult. The ultimate program is to work my running capabilities up slowly while keeping better tabs over the calories coming into my body.
About 6 years ago I had to stop running due to chronic plantar fasciitis. In the attempts to resolve this condition, a bone cyst was discovered in my foot. After several surgical attempts to resolve the issue, multiple foot reconstructions, and around 6 months without walking, the pain is finally in a manageable state and I can get back to doing the things that made me enjoy life.
