I have been gone (off of spark people for a very long time). I kept exercising and lost a few pounds, but I am stalled at around 205 lbs. I love Spark People and don't know why I ever left. I now realized I just can't do it on my own any longer. I need help, motivation and support. I am back!!!!!!!

Welcome aboard! No, not the Yellow Submarine-The Done Being the Fat Girl team!

In Sparky-town where I once joined,
Lived a team who said to me,
Come and dance, laugh and sing,
In our mess-age boards, then you'll see,

So I went onto the board,
Read the posts that made me cry
And we laugh and dance and sing
On our happy go-lucky team

We all love the DONE GIRLS team,
Done Girls team, Done Girls team,
We all love the DONE GIRLS team,
Done Girls team, Done Girls team.

And our friends are all aboard,
Many more of them live next door,
And the band begins to play.

(Trumpets play)

We all love the DONE GIRLS team,
Done Girls team, Done Girls team,
We all love the DONE GIRLS team,
Done Girls team, Done Girls team.

(Full speed ahead, Mr. Parker, full speed ahead!
Full speed over here, sir!
Action station! Action station!
Aye, aye, sir, fire!
Heaven! Heaven!)

As we live a life of ease
Every one of us, friends in need,
Get tons of support, goodies, it's free
in our Duh-ONE GIRLS team.

We all love the DONE GIRLS team,
Done Girls team, Done Girls team,
We all love the DONE GIRLS team,

Welcome back and congratulations on your marriage! How exciting!

I've only been vegan a very short time. (Two weeks maybe? Joining the Living a Vegan Lifestyle team did it for me.) I was leaning towards vegetarian way way back in high school and just never had the support of someone close to me to help with the final transition. Jim was a vegetarian when I met him; I had made the decision myself just 8 months before. So that was easy! He's allergy to eggs so that eliminated them from our diet. I have always hated drinking milk so no tears there. But cheese. Ah, cheese and I have a history. It's not pretty. I've consumed my share plus that of three small villages besides.

Last weekend we went to a Mexican restaurant and I asked them to hold the cheese and sour cream on my entree. Yup, still in shock myself. LOL But I do things better if I go all out "cold turkey". A little cheese here, a nibble there...uh huh...I'll be gnawing at the entire block of cheese before I know it.

Jim has lost some weight too. He carries his right in front, like a little beer belly. There's been some grumbling that I don't cook his old favorites as often. Well, yea, the old favorites are part of the reason I'm here!!

I've mainly watched the sauces, cut way back on cheese and wine and keep a steady supply of carrots, apples and water on hand. I don't try to deprive myself. Just figure out what's a decent serving size, portion it out and be satisfied. I've found I can't have Newman's O's cookies in the house. Two is a serving and I can't stop at two. Plain and simple. So they're banished from the house. It's all trial and error. Find what works best for you and go with it. I know the morning walks have made a world of difference also.

I've also read two books: "Diets Don't Work" by scott somebody. And "Thin Within" by Judy Wardell who helped mr. somebody with his book then wrote this one a few years later. She has changed her program a bit and charges $$ now (she can be found online). I found these books at a thrift store. At the Pandora's Box team here on Spark I have blogged each of the 30 days of the Thin within program if you want to check it out.

Ok! I think I had best stop writing now and give you a chance to rest your eyes! I hope these tips and ideas help you some. I've had my bad days, my so so days but mostly it's been good. Keep in touch! Blessings for a wonderful weekend, Cyndy

p.s. Love the pictures! You're a glowing bride and your family is beautiful!
ok, going now, really...
