Meet Jo

Hi, I'm Jo. I'm 64, widowed just recently (july 14, 2014), have 2 kids, 1 daughter-in-law, 3 grandchildren and 1 puppy. I'm determined to learn to live a new lifestyle of healthy eating and good exercise and stretching. Going through a long illness and then the death of my husband took its toll on my body. In the middle of the 7 year stretch, I managed to lose a lot of the weight, but in this last, very hard year, I managed to put most of it back on. There is little point in beating ...

In the middle of the 7 year stretch, I managed to lose a lot of the weight, but in this last, very hard year, I managed to put most of it back on. There is little point in beating myself up about it. I need to use all of my energy toward moving forward, emotionally and physically. Many are praying for me, for which I am so, so grateful.

Thank you Jo for popping into Syracuse Sparks. I believe your comment was encouragement for me and confirmation where my focus and heart needs to be..on our Lord Jesus Christ. I just thought I'd share that with you.

Love and hugs to you.

Rebekah

Jo, thanks for your comment. It is so funny as at once I did detest cooking and now I really enjoy it (cooking and baking). In fact, I made two pies today apple and blueberry for our fund raiser this weekend.

Jo, I have the Bosch bread machine--can knead about 10#'s of dough at a time, and then I bake the loaves in the oven. You'll have to tell your dh of all the health benefits! Seriously, if he ATE the bread, he'd be sold! emoticon {{{hugs}}}

Jo, I was surprised too, but yes, I was actually good until lunch. Sometimes if I have 'carbs' like oatmeal, then I really want to eat 2 hours later. But this didn't conjure up those feelings at all. Do you know about Vitatops? They do have protein & fiber in them. And my yogurt had protein too, along with the almonds. So maybe it all counterbalanced. I don't know--but I do know this--it was DE-LI-CIOUS!!!! emoticon
