I have set a new goal to start running. I started running again for the first time in 15 years September 2010. I did great for two months then the weather and family caused me to stop. I had surgery the first monday of January. I was down for 6 weeks and lost much of my endurance. I started back running end of March. I have set a goal to run my first 5K in May, my first 15K in July, and my first half marathon in October with some family members. I have turned my focus away from the number on the scale to my training schedule. I just want to be healthy and happy no matter what size I am. This way the weight will naturally come off with me stressing about why it goes up a little or doesn't move at all. I figure I will weight in every couple of weeks to keep track of progress if needed.

More about me:

I am a stay at home mom of three girls. I am trying to get back in shape after stressful jobs and having kids. I miss my old self then I was at only 116 pounds. I was at my heaviest in 2002 at 177 pounds and have lost a little here and there but never have gotten completely serious about changing for the long term. I was 160 when I started SP in March of 2008. When I started working out
spring 2008 it felt great. I had forgotten how good it feels after a workout. I was able to play soccer with my 4 year old for the first time without getting tired. She has tons of energy and she got tired before I did. After summer hit I slowed down on working out. I need to get back my motivation and discipline. Fast forward 2011, I haven't lost really any weight. I have never fully committed to sticking with it. I try for a while and then get lazy. I decided to no longer use my weight loss goal in pounds but in how I feel and what I accomplish working out or running races. I have set a new goal of completing my first 5K. I have not run races in 17 years. So no better time to start then now. I am not pulling out my scale for a while so I can focus on being healthy and stop worrying about why the numbers aren't going down.

Thanks for your comment on my blog!! SAME EXACT THING HERE! "easy week" = lazy couple weeks. Slacking off... too many "oh this won't hurt to eat today"... and my runs have been LOUSY! It's a lot to do with the heat, I know, but also that I Haven't been fueling my body the way it needs to function really well. Time to get in gear, since I'm running another half marathon in just 7 WEEKS!! EEEEEEEP!! BUTT = IN GEAR!!!
