I am an ex-smoker and at the time of my quitting I began my weight loss journey, which I didn't realize at first. Immediately after I stopped smoking, every time I had an urge I would go for a run. At first it was only a block that turned into a half mile and then a mile and so forth. I have lost almost 24pounds and loving my new body. I'm still wanting to weigh less but have turned my focus from how many pounds I have lost, to how many miles I can run. Since 2011 , I ran in 2 trail runs, 9 5K runs, 1 8K run, 3 4-milers, 1 10K run and my first ever Half Marathon and the list continues to grow.

I may not be the fastest runner but I have found that running trumps smoking any day of the week!
I love my new lifestyle!
