Life Change!

I'm Michelle, I'm 19 and have always been into sports and fitness. I usually gain about 10 or 20 pounds from time to time and then take it off. Recently, however I gained a good 40 pounds and I'm not happy! I want to lost it for good, then figure out how to maintain a healthy weight.

Update: I lost 32 pounds! WOW. It took longer than I wanted it to, but hey I did it! So, now I'm currently running with the Mesa Women's Cross Country team and planning to try out for the UCSD ...

Update: I lost 32 pounds! WOW. It took longer than I wanted it to, but hey I did it! So, now I'm currently running with the Mesa Women's Cross Country team and planning to try out for the UCSD track team (where I go to school). I'll start a blog, too!

Further update: I am now 24! Wow time flies and have graduated college and am happy to say I have kept off about half the weight I originally put on years ago. I am around 155 pounds right now though with a goal of 140-145. So time to just get rid of the extra fat!!

emoticon to being an "active" Sparkperson. I've been a Sparker for quite some time now and co-lead one team (Positive Sparkers). With the help of SparkPeople (and its supportive members), I've done pretty well losing weight (with occasional bumps in the road..currently relosing some pounds added with meds and some physical issues). For myself, I do best when active on SP. No judgments allowed here. We are all in this together. Feel free to ask me anything, check out my spark page or my team. Enjoy the journey, you can do this!

Hi, Welcome to Spark People. emoticon

You have come to the right place. This is not just about dieting, it is about life style change and finding support from positive people. Check out the Fitness Tracker and Nutrition Tracker features. These are powerful tools to help you get on track and stay on track. Try blogging, too. It is amazing the support you get from others who are struggling with similar issues or who have overcome them.

Jump in, join some teams, and be kind to yourself. Change doesn't happen over night, but it does happen.

Welcome to the new you!

Chris

Check in on the teams. That is by far the best motivation there is. You can join the 20-somethings trying to lose betweem 10 and 49 pounds.

There are tons of groups out there, so just be sure to search using keywords and see what you can Find! Good luck and WELCOME!
