Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek. --

My Goals:
So, I am going to shake things up a bit... Let's see if THIS will work. I need to become more accountable
1/22 227 BIG ICK
1 pound per week. This I am going to try and do. Eat better, Move more, it's a pound, I can DO a pound, but gee whiz, 52 pounds this year, sounds so much better than 1 pound this week...

My Program:
I need to remember what I am putting in my mouth .
I need to remember that if I canít (wonít) walk because itís cold out, I need to move in another way.
I need to remember that if I donít burn calories, I will not continue to lose weight.
I need to remember that whole foods are better than processed foods.
I need to remember that this is a journey to the rest of my life.

Personal Information:
I joined Sparks a couple of years ago, and every once in a while I would post what I ate. This spring (2010) I decided I would make myself more accountable. So, here I am, 50. WOW how cool. I am 50. Now the flip side of that is I often don't think I have changed the world, I think I thought I would. I didn't invent anything that changed the world, People don't say, Oh, there she goes, you know, she founded... Updated..
1/14 I am still here, I am now 53, and I am still on the journey, and I WILL NOT GIVE UP.

Other Information:
To wake up every day grateful for the things I already have. To remember that life is a gift not given, and that if I don't do something about my weight, I may not have a long life, which I need, and so does my family.

Retirement would be wonderful if I had time to enjoy it. Actually, retirement is wonderful. We have been so busy this summer with projects that we haven't done any of the things we had planned on doing.

We did go on a 3 week vacation in June with 2 of my husbands sisters his brother and his sister-in-law. It was a really fun time but we were glad to get home.

This week I am working on wedding stuff for my daughter's brother-in-law's wedding on Saturday. I made the 5 vests for the wedding and the bride's veil. I also got the wedding dress pressed and ready to go.

Next week we are going to Grand Junction for a square dance festival and will stay through the next weekend for my nephew's surprise birthday party. We are hoping that later in the month we will be able to go to Denver to spend some time with our son, which we have been planning on doing since we retired in April.

I hope you are doing well. How soon will you be able to retire? Don't wait any longer than you have to because it truly is wonderful.

Enjoy the rest of the summer. emoticon emoticon

Yes probably so. I think the last month was most stressful because I was trying to make sue I did everything I could before I left. I didn't really realize it until last week.

Thanks for the pool. It looks very inviting. We had a very busy weekend so today is the first day I've had a chance to think about not working. No big plans yet we are just going to take things one day at a time for a while. Have a great day.

Not counting minutes yet but darn sure counting the days. Only 15 work days left and I'm taking one of those off so really only have to work for 14 more days.
