From sunshine to Sonshine

I'm looking to lose a few pounds, tone up and keep healthy.

My dear sister, SHEILARIE1, turned me to SP. I'm soon to be 61, although I don't feel like it. I never use to have any issues with weight gain, but that changed after age 40. I started gaining 2-5 lbs a year. Not enough to notice at any given time - just a slow but steady climb. I know it's not a whole lot I need to lose - 10-15 lbs - but I'm unhappy with the way I look now. I'm motivated to get it back down and keep ...

I want to avoid health issuses and have more energy.

I want to be the best God created me to be and to take care of the body He gave me.

I LOVE THOSE PICTURES! I HAD TO CHECK IT OUT IMMEDIATELY WHILE MY EYES ARE NOT CROSSED. THAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET TIRED NOW BUT I AM REALLY PUSHING IT TOO MUCH TOO. I BETTER BEHAVE MYSELF BUT I FEEL LIKE A LITTLE KID IN A CANDY STORE.

I know you must have had something to do with that beautiful greeting card I got from your church. I have been listening to the prayer outreach that Rusty is trying to make work and it sounds like it is really taking off. USTREAM is what my husband was trying to talk our church into doing but they refused because they didn't feel that commercials should ever be on a church program. But that's the way it works. I did send Pastor Small a nice thank you note that I hope he gets. Thanks again.

About a year and a half ago, I had cataract surgery on my right eye that didn't work and they decided what I really needed was a cornea transplant. I was fortunate enough to get one, but my body has been fighting to reject it ever since. So I have only 20% vision in my right eye and the steroids I have to take for anti-rejection just pack on the weight. A week ago today, I woke up and could see nothing at all out of my left eye - which was the good one. We immediately called my eye Dr. and he looked at it and said that I had a double cataract - one hard and one soft due to leaking vitreous fluid. They have to try to remove both cataracts, repair the leak and laser the edges. I got two other opinions and they were all in sync. Unfortunately, the success rate with this surgery is only 10% so I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. I will be fine either way. I have faced worse challenges and always seem to come out on top. I have some really good friends here that are already helping me and really keeping my spirits up. The only one who isn't being very supportive is DH.
