My name is Sara. It's been 5 years since I first join spark and it's been a rollercoaster ride of lessons. I am finally finished with college. I have a great job, home, boyfriend, and beautiful little boy but horrible confidence and respect for myself. I am addicted to sugar and for the longest time the only reasons why I wanted to lose weight was to no longer be fat in society's eyes or to impress that person that I haven't seen in a while. It took many years of thinking, gaining 40 pounds, and 3 years of "tomorrow I will start again" to find the bigger reason for all of this.

Yes, we all want to be healthy. But do you really? I've read countless books, magazines, blogs, etc to know what I should be eating but when I'm hungry, stressed, bored, or in a hurry, I jump for the bad stuff. Which, to be honest, feels like ALL the time, doesn't it?

I understand that eating healthy is a learning process with a huge curve. I have no idea how to cook with spices, fruits, and veggies to make a delicious meal. If it isn't dump a box into a saucepan or pizza in the oven, hit the timer and come back 15 minutes later then I don't know what to do. I have NO knowledge of when produce is ripe, how to cut it, or what things go good together but you know what? I won't learn by not trying. It is going to be challenging in the beginning and I'm sure I'll make some things that just aren't good. But eventually it will become habits and my sugar addiction will be a thing of the past.

I'm not in search of the perfect body to fit into a size 2. I am in search of a body that I am proud of. One that I work hard for and push to accomplish amazing things. I am in search of confidence. Just like it takes years to save up for a house, it will take me years to adjust to this lifestyle but it only takes doing one more rep than I thought I could or making a great meal from scratch to feel proud.

To have great confidence in my body and it's ability to amazing things but fueling it properly and pushing it to the limits regularly. I want to be proud of myself regardless of what size I am and a wonderful example of a strong, powerful, caring woman for my son.

My Program:
Reason: we only have one body and one earth to live on
Body: 30 minutes of high intensity workouts, 6 days/wk
Food: 1400 calories of high protein, high fat, no sugar goodness from local farms and gardens

Personal Information:
I'm a mother of a beautiful little boy and girlfriend of an ambitious, supportive man who truly wants to see me succeed. I work for a consulting company as a building energy engineer and am passionate about saving the Earth, one BTU of gas, kWh of electricity, and gallon of water at a time.

Other Information:
I have an extremely open personality, sometimes I tell people too much about me! I'm very outgoing and love sports, except basketball. I used to pitch Division I softball and miss it terribly! But my life is my family and my career.

Hey girlie! Things have been crazy here! My husband and I just bought a house, so we are in the process of moving. The house has been empty for 2 years, so there's LOTS of cleaning and painting that needs to be done before we actually move all of our stuff in....so we have been busy with that! We have to have everything out of our apartment by Monday, so the next few days are going to be pretty hectic! Not so much fun when I'm 36 weeks preggo! haha I'll just be happy once it's over though! I'm ready to get the nursery and everything set up in the new house....and ready for this little guy's arrival! I'm definitely at the point where I just feel uncomfortable majority of the time! haha
I hope all is well with you and your adorable little family!
