Hi my name is Siobhan (which is an Irish name and is pronounced Shavon- for those of you who aren't familiar). I'm a 31 year old stay-at-home mom to my beautiful 2 year old girl, wife to a great husband, and owner of 2 large unruly dogs (a black lab & a bloodhound).
I've struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I lost about 30 lbs back in my early 20's, but over the years i gained it all back & then some. Now I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I'm tired of being out of shape, having low energy, & not liking what I see in the mirror. I especially want to be healthier so I can be a good example for my daughter. I don't want her to grow up with the same food & weight issues that I have.
It's been a little more than 2 months now since I joined SP. When I happened across SP while looking up healthy recipes little did I know at the time what a huge impact this website would have on my life. Now I'm 22 lbs lighter, 2 inches smaller in both my waist & hips, much more energetic, a better mom & wife, feeling more confident in my own skin, & trying things I would never have tried before. I started the couch-to-5k running program this week, and I'm planning on entering a race once I can run 5k without stopping.
SP is an amazing, inspiring, supportive & safe place. I am forever in debt to all those I've befriended & come in contact with here. I couldn't have come this far without you, and I know I can continue on strong with you at my back!
1. Get down to a healthy weight.
2. Get in shape so I can easily do activities like hiking again.
3. Change my lifestyle and relationship with food so I will never be overweight again!
1. Eat less meat, more veggies, & fewer sweets.
2. Be more active: go to gym, exercise classes, go for walks, do yard work.
3. Find a buddy & use SP forums to get support & keep myself motivated.
4. Be supportive of other SP so we all have a better chance at reaching our goals.
I grew up in MA, now I live in southern NH.
I love cooking, photography, gardening, animals, arts & crafts, reading, movies, & most of all spending time with family & friends.
