Hi! My name is DJ. I have a wonderful husband of 32 years. We have 3 great adult children and 2 grand children. Now that all the kids are grown, it is now our time. We haven't always taken good care of ourselves because kids, work, other obligations always seem to come first. So I am learning to be healthy and fight old age. lol. And it is working!!! Aches and pains are going away and being replaced with energy, strength, and enjoyment. Life is good. It is still not easy, but I am learning to protect exercise time and I NEED to keep my needs first so I can do for others. No matter what age you are, please learn this. I didn't learn it until I hit 50. I could of had more energy and felt better earlier, but just didn't think I had the time. Make the time so that your life can be the best it can be:)
My fitness goals are:
* To focus on fitness-I slacked up on fitness but kept weight in range. Was surprised to see what muscle loss looks like. Amazing both in looks and strength. So back to cardio, strength, and flexibility.
*Balanced nutrition and having fun with it. New recipes, new techniques, new foods, etc.
*Being active. Just having fun being strong and playful in the pool, at the beach, fishing, getting with friends, even at work.
*Laugh a lot. Enjoy the wonderful people in my life.
* to be all I can be. I want to clean out the closets in my house and trim down the stuff in storage that is never used.
Exercise is my pivot point. Everything goes well if I exercise. Trouble is I am not an exercise lover. Although I am learning to really enjoy it and the results. Everything is so much easier when I am fit. Learning how to maintain. The hard part is not feeling like the exercises are working because I am not sore. That is called maintenance. New concept. I keep quitting because it feels like it isn't working. Then once I loose the muscle then I understand "oh... maintenance". lol
