My goal is to finally dust off my exercise equipment (take the clothes off the stationary bike) and start moving my body (To Tina Turner/John Fogerty). Also out with the white carbs and in with the veggies/fruit
Sparks diary daily and remember it's only 1 day at a time.Even if it takes a year!!!!
I live near Santa Monica-California. In the past I would go to the beach weekly and Boogie board/swim and enjoy the Sun. I have been married for almost 48 years (some good/some bad. I have a beautiful daughter and a wonderful Pal (young Golden Retriever dog) Which one day I hope to be able to walk with him (as soon as I can lose the %^^&$ weight which effec6ts my legs/back. My hobbies are card making/crafts/reading and gardening. Now it is joining the groups in Sparks which give me inspiration and hope.
Marilyn, how are you girlfriend? First I wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and making a comment. It was much appreciated. Now for the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say. I am sorry to hear that your back operation did not turn out as hoped. I can’t say as planned because I am use to nothing going as planned. I think I told you once that my daughter has had two back surgeries and she is barely 40. Neither of them did anything more than give her temporary relief. She has to sleep in a recliner chair sitting up. If she tries to lay flat she cannot sleep and she is in more pain. She is getting injections which did help for a while but now her system is being run down from them and they no longer work. I cannot say I know what you are going through but I can associate with it. I also have chronic lower back pain from arthritis making life a pain in my axx. (oh that might be the sciatic nerve that is doing that hehe – with the complications of my knee surgery, broken leg surgery and so much else) I tell you it’s crap getting old and not being able to do what we once did.
Now the e-reader…that is a very cool way to go. I was introduced to it a couple of years ago with buying my sister who is an advent reader one for a present. With that one I had to open an account at Barns N Nobel. I bought at least 30 books on there for my grandson who is also a fluent reader and loves a good book. I however let him use my Ipad II for his reading. He assumed I gave it to him so I had to go out and get me a new Ipad II for myself. Don’t even ask me why…but I did. To my surprise one night my electric was out and I had a full charge on the Ipad so I opened a book to read since it did not get online without the internet. I couldn’t believe I read that first book in just a single day then continued to go on a couple of days later and start a second novel and finished it. I love to read but put it aside quite a few years ago for other things. I did all this on my Ipad. For a surprise this past Christmas I bought a friend of mine a nook book since she loves to read. And about a week ago I ordered another nook book and had it shipped to me so I could give it to my daughter. She loves to read….and would not invest in the e-reader saying it was to advanced and she loved the feel of a good book. Pifff she loves that new e-reader now…no shopping for books other what I put on my account, she reads all the weird ones that I and my grandson buy and read. No library late fees because she forgot to take them back. Sounds like a win win situation to me. So…I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY THE e-reader you get.
Final; I think you were off line yourself when I took a temp sabbatical from SPARK. It seemed to take up quite a bit of my time and things were pushing at me from all sides I had to make a few changes in order to keep going and not ignore more important things.
Little story and then I am out of here…I was so worn out and tired…I was taking care of everyone else and put my monthly bill payment aside one month. Not a major problem since I have the money and can pay it when I get around to it. But, why I have no explanation for than I just did not feel I had the time to sit down and write out checks put on the stamps and take to the post office. Well I was coming home one night from running back and forth to the city over a 2 hour drive each way taking care of another problem, when I closed my eyes at what I thought was just a blink…to wake up at putting my truck in a 12 foot ditch. My only pleasure out of the whole incident was that I myself was not hurt. I called the Hubby and he and my granddaughter came and got me…and the truck. He had to use a hoist to pull the truck out of the ditch and put it on his call hauler. He took it right then up to the Chrysler dealer and left it for them. Saturday morning I got up early and called my agent to let her know I had an accident, the office was not open. I called the main office and put in my 16 digit account number so that a recording could come on and tell me that my insurance expired and that I could pay it online…which I preceded to do right away.
Well that last little voice that comes on before you hit that final payment button is one that says…any accidents for claims that happened during the time of laps would not be covered. I hit the button and went on. I had to tell my hubby that I didn’t think it would be covered since it was already at a dealership. That cost me just over 5000.00. I decided right then I had to cut my plate and concentrate on just the things going on right around me for a while. That all else was not important enough to put a drain in my life. So SPARK and a couple of other things that keep me up and busy were put on a back burner. What can I say shix happens.
I don’t want to lose some of the good friends I made on Spark but I cannot keep up with their everyday life and handle mine so I had to put you all on a back burner and hopefully I will find a way and time for everything once again. Keep in touch….I will give you my main email since I don’t always open SPARK anymore.

Hi Silver! So how is Marilyn doing nowadays? Haven't seen a word from you on the post. I hope they are not giving you pills that are knocking you out. Be better if they make you "goofy" insteard of sleepy. Take it easy and know that you are in my prayers. Noel
