I was Losing the weight from college by learning to cook real food!
I think I've learned to do that - so now I'm trying to balance my research and life as a graduate student with leading a healthy lifesyle.

My Goals:
Go from 178 pounds (January 2005) to between 130 to 120 pounds. As of now (August 2006) I''m at 150 and counting! I want to be more fit, and more active outdoors. So far so good.



My Program:
I was doing weight watchers online, but lost my motivation after I got married. Now I found spark people and I like how you can track more than just points - and I can really eat anything as long as I track it. I am more focused on the lifestyle change versus the ''diet''.

My biggest problem was I didn''t know how to cook healthy (grown up) foods, other than tuna salad and mac n'' cheese. I have lost 40 pounds just through diet change. These last 20 are stubborn, but I''m determined to kick their butt!

I am starting to exercising more regularly (more than just walking the dog). I have started going o the gym to do strength training and cardio at least 3 times a week. I have found running in the pool with a buddy is a fun and easy on the knees way to get some great cardio.
I walk the dog with my huband for at least an hour or so at least one a week. I am really excited about the cool weather!



Personal Information:
I am from Columbus, Ohio and I am a graduate student in biology at Bowling Green State University. I study the ecology and behavior of fish and other aquatic organisms. My goal is to graduate May 2007.
Anyone need an ecologist?
