Fat B Gone!

It is only recently that I have had weight, err, fat issues! In fact, immediately after I had my two kids I looked great, thanks to breastfeeding. But in the past 4 years, my mid-thirties has taken over my midsection! I always wore 6's and 8's comfortably and never before had to diet until two years ago. I planned a trip to visit family in So. America that hadn't seen me in 15 yrs! I pushed myself, did the South Beach diet and lost 13lbs. Now, of course, it's all back!

I hate that I've had to purchase larger sizes and don't want to have to donate the 80% of the clothes in my closet that is calling me to return to it! -- I hear your cry and am longing to come back to you :0)

I am also fully aware that because of the extra pounds I've avoided my annual check up for the past few years -- isn't it vain, I dont' want to go because I know they will say "Well, you've gained quite a bit since your last visit. You really have to lose weight and exercise more. tsk, tsk!"

So, honestly, the struggle with weight loss is new to me. I'm trying to take on new habits and hopefully transform into a healthier, better me.

I have a desk job that keeps me non active for 80% of my day, that combined with all the super fattening food my coworkers bring in to share and my LOVE for carbs, it has helped me to add on about 20lbs!

I've made a commitment to myself that I will not settle for this weight, shape and unhealthy lifestyle. So I've plugged into SP and am excited to see where this journey will lead.

It looks like you and I have the same amount to lose!!
I know about the family seeing you after a long time and giving you that crazy look like "What happened to you?" And I come from a Spanish family so they more than likely will ask you that with no shame at all!
I have a whole set of clothes that I still hold on to for when I can fit back into them!!

Hello - I'm a fellow Long Islander who wishes I started getting smart when I was at your current weight. I waited another 40 lbs, but now I'm on my way down, just a bit under your starting weight. I just wanted to tell you that I love the way you put graphics into your blogs - very cool!
