On my Journey in Life

I have been on many, many diets through the years and now know that I need to make some life-time changes. At my beginning of my senior years, I find I crave the wrong foods more than ever. My goal is to try to encourage others and with their help...and Jehovah's; I will find the self-control that I need to reach a healthy life style.
I have been married almost 18 years to a wonderful husband that loves me at any size. But; I know that life should be better if I am healthier.

My Goals:
My goals are to lose over 60 lbs in a healthy and non-destructive manner.
No time limit is set since I feel that can cause stress and I am going to take this one week at a time. As I lose weight I plan to get more active physically.

My Program:
eat under 20 grams of fat each day, drink 8 glasses of water a day, drink green tea, walk or use treadmill 3 times a week. Keep track of food in home. Keep a journal on the emotional trip I will be taking during my weight loss.

Personal Information:
I live in Michigan, the land of different seasons. Like some of us say "If you don't like the weather, wait a few days and it will change."
I live by Turkeys, (not people) we own 6 dogs and live in the country. Theocratic Husband is my love.

After I posted I realized YOU had posted just ahead of me...and what a post! I am SO sorry you were hit so hard by the flu. Sounds like you had a terrible round of it! I hope you are truly on the road to recovery now. emoticon My husband is in his 7th or 8th week since breaking out in shingles...and it has been a terrible siege to get through. He is finally sleeping again (not that he has ever been a good sleeper) and his energy is returning. The pain was awful...and that has subsided. The skin is mostly healed. Hope that is the last of it..forever!

This is frustrating to get sick again since December being ill. But of course, my body had to decide to choose the flu coming to Michigan! Even the United States Map showing the states with the flu virus does not show Michigan getting it. . . but, (uh-huh) I really know it is here. The doctor took a culture from up my nose... and I am authentic. The symptoms? At first on Wednesday morning it was the fatigue...(I wondered if I was depressed?) then by evening it was weepy eyes, runny nose & swollen face. So. . .I told my hubby I was sleeping on the recliner. He brushed it off thinking what I had was minor. The next morning I was feeling really bad, (but already had made a doctor appt.) But then the vomiting started, I could hold nothing down, only suck ice chips & and had a low fever, 100.4 with chills. The series of vomiting stopped just in time for me to drive to the doctor appt. So here I am (5 days later) on Monday. I feel like something the cat dragged in. But; I can now eat light and I can drink liquids. I am grateful that my husband was my TLC nurse last weekend. He brought me the ginger ale, gave me Jello, tissues for my sore nose and tried to cheer me up. My cat was my comforter while we slept together. emoticon
