Moving Metal

I am a CrossFitter currently training for my first Strong(wo)man competition. I'm working on getting heavy things overhead, carrying and dragging heavy things 50 feet, flipping a tire, and putting stones over a bar. It's hard work and tons of fun!

While I'd be happy to lose weight, my body has settled into the low 190s. I've been getting feedback that I'm looking more fit lately, so even though the scale isn't moving, I'm making progress! While training for Strongman, I'm not ...

While I'd be happy to lose weight, my body has settled into the low 190s. I've been getting feedback that I'm looking more fit lately, so even though the scale isn't moving, I'm making progress! While training for Strongman, I'm not worrying about the number on the scale. I am still eating well and counting calories, just not fretting when my weight doesn't go down.

After my competition, I plan to change gears and do the Whole30. I have numerous health reasons for trying it, and I plan to use it to help bust this weight plateau. Because it reduces athletic performance for a little while, it must wait until my competition is complete.

My Goals:
I am training for my first Strongman competition.

I am aiming to lose approximately 30 pounds, while getting stronger.

My best tracking streak to date is 30 days in a row. I'm looking to beat that!

My Program:
I do CrossFit 3-4x a week, Strongman training 1-2x a week, and I aim to get 10k steps a day. I occasionally do acroyoga as well. I use my bike to commute semi-regularly.

I use the Fitbit calorie calculator to determine my daily total, but even when it says I can go higher, I generally try to stay below 2000 calories.

Hi thanks for the comment on my blog. I don't know if I would be able to handle all of those body cravings/moodiness/changes! If it did help me towards the end, then maybe it would be worth it, but it still seems like a really stressful situation. My boyfriend would probably hate me!

Hi Silly! Thanks for commenting on my blog! I actually had the Flex last year for about 6 months (until it broke...bummer) and never had a single problem. But I still think I'm over the wrist-band type. Lots of people have recommended the One, though, so I think I'll try that. Worse case scenario I can always go back to the Flex once I get my refund from FitBit :) Thanks again!
