I've finally decided to succeed

I've been somewhat overweighted my whole life. Growing up in Brazil, my everyday meals consisted of food high in calories, carbs, cholesterol and proteins. These unbalanced and unhealthy eating habits prevented me from losing my extra fat for over 20 years.
About three years ago I decided it was time to change. I tried everything, from magical weight loss pills to a biweekly personal trainer at a local gym. All these attempts failed after a while, I lost motivation to go to the gym at ...
I've been somewhat overweighted my whole life. Growing up in Brazil, my everyday meals consisted of food high in calories, carbs, cholesterol and proteins. These unbalanced and unhealthy eating habits prevented me from losing my extra fat for over 20 years.
About three years ago I decided it was time to change. I tried everything, from magical weight loss pills to a biweekly personal trainer at a local gym. All these attempts failed after a while, I lost motivation to go to the gym at least three times a week and eventually all the water weight lost by the magical pills came back.
What I didn't know wass that my commitment for a life style change was only growing stronger with every fail. I gradually avoided sodas, fried food and sweet treats from my diet and started to worry about the calories I was intaking and slowly adding more fresh fruits and vegetables in my diet.
It was not until I was introduced to the SparkPeople app on my phone that I've committed myself to a complete life style change. I am currently exercising with the Power 90 program and my goal is to work my way up to P90X and eventually lose 35 pounds.

Hi sylvia - thanks for the add.

Since you have asthma you do not really have to get going at 100mph i lost all of my weight from walking. that and counting all of my calories. but i never started running until i had finally got to my goal weight. before that i walked all over boston anywhere from 4 to 13 miles per day.(it helped that i was out of work at the time)LOL

the journey starts with just one step emoticon
