Oh, yes! I imagine its changed a LOT in 40 years! They now have free natural gas powered buses for visitors to ride around the park. We went there in our truck, and parked at the visitor's center and took a bus to Jordan's pond, and back. The problem is that the bus runs are confusing and you have to wait quite a while sometimes because the buses run every 30 minutes, and the next one coming is not necessarily the one you want to take! They need to simplify their schedules, with buses only running the entire park road loop every so often instead of runs here and there and no one knows which bus to take because they all look the same! After that first ride, we got in our truck and drove to the sights, which was much better for us. 16 days ago
Wow, we visited the Jordan Pond house too before walking down to the pond. I didn't see where they were selling the souvenirs, though! Maine is quite an expensive place in July and August, I think its when they make most of their tourist revenue! Glad you got to visit, maybe once again, sometime? 17 days ago
You are correct that it is hard to lose our furbaby's and mine are my heart. Thought my heart would break and die after Puddy and Buddy both left for the Rainbow Bridge. I will spend eternity spoiling them once again. You have a blessed Christmas.
