Siegrid's place

Welcome and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Siegrid and I am a foodaholic or just plain addicted to food.
I have been with Spark People since February 2008 and had gone down from 220lbs to 132lbs which was past my original goal of 140lbs. I had reached my goal by october 2008 and managed to maintain until the middle of 2010, when my Dad died. Since then I have been going uphill.. I have tried and tried to restart here, but I have failed time and time again.

I'm positive I can do this
I'm positive I'm making progress
I'm positive because I'm sure of myself
I'm positive because I have a goal!
I'm positive because I know where I am going
I'm positive I'll get there.

THe lady that the benefit was for is a good friend, and yes, she does get Social Security and most of her health care is paid for, it's the little things. She does have 3 children, but to tell you how much support she get from them, they didn't even show up yesterday to support her. Her family is her job, she has worked there 27 yrs., and now through the gracious heart of the manager, she lets her come in a few hour during the week so that she can keep her on the payroll, but she is unable to work full time now, and the little bills are just killing her, like the high utility cost this winter, her house payment and the price of gas to drive back and forth to treatments. I guess the benefit went well, I sure hope so.

It sounds like you have a terrific working relationship with your physiotherapist, and laughter has a way of relieving tension and embarrassment.

When I first met Tom, I almost died. Of all the trainers in the gym, I end up working with the hot one. Even though I'm old enough to be his mother, I was intimidated. Why would a guy who looks like him want to work with a fat old lady like me? As it turns out, Tom is very down to earth, and, while he might be a cutie, he's also a sweetie. Since September of last year, I've worked with him twice a week. During those 45 minute sessions, we've had some really interesting conversations. I still can't believe we've delved into my eating issues. I don't trust a lot of people with that information, but I guess that's part of the process. It's the whole empathy thing, and, as it turns out, it goes both ways. His mother does drugs and is a hoarder, so he doesn't have much of a relationship with her. He's 35, divorced with a 12-year old son, and is going to college studying for a degree in public health. He always tells me how he does on his quizzes, and I offer as much encouragement as possible. I've checked his head for bald spots - there aren't any - and he's told me he has one testicle and some grey chest hairs. Don't ask. I have to wonder if he shares all this information with the rest of his clients. Working with Tom is never boring!

Take care!!

Leslie
