I joined SparkPeople a few years ago but really started using it regularly in 2013. I broke my leg in April doing my first 5k--a mud obstacle race. That was a huge setback, but I did overcome it. I am still getting back into jogging/running but have since lost 19 pounds. I went from 133 (a little overweight for my height) down to 114. I went from a size 6 to a size 2.

I am still getting back into jogging/running but have since lost 19 pounds. I went from 133 (a little overweight for my height) down to 114. I went from a size 6 to a size 2.

I continue to use sparkpeople as a motivator to get into better shape. Instead of focusing on weight loss since hitting my goal weight of 115, I am now focusing on getting stronger. I love participating in the different challenges on the site and using the food tracker to eat healthier foods and control my portions.

My Goals:
My initial goal when I started to use sparkpeople was to lose 15 pounds. Instead, I lost 19!

My current goals are:
-Jog a 5k
-Do 30 crunches in a minute
-Do 25 pushes in a minute
-Become a more active member of Sparkpeople

My Program:
I keep my workouts diverse to keep my interest in them. It makes it easier to fit in a workout everyday that way. I currently take my dogs for walks, go jogging, use Wii games like Just Dance, Zumba, and Fit in Six, and do minor strength training exercises. I also focus on eating more protein and less carbs than I have previously.

Personal Information:
I grew up an Air Force brat, but I consider Omaha, Nebraska my hometown. I am now an Air Force wife (I can't escape) and am getting used to living in the South for a couple of years. We are currently located at Barksdale AFB.

Other Information:
I love animals and work as a pet training instructor at the local Petsmart. I wish our company had a presence on the site! I also am learning to sew and cook more from scratch.
