2015 Update: Job stress, planning a wedding, family drama, and being happy with my husband all led to me gaining a lot of weight in 2014. I''m aiming to get back on track in 2015. April 2011 I had a reality check. I was 25, single, overweight, and not happy about it... so I started to change. After I lost 40 lbs I found SparkPeople and it has kept me motivated to lose more! As a treat to myself I had a brachioplasty in August of 2012. The revision surgery in December 2012 made my left arm fantastic... but the right one -- not so much. its all healed now and I wouldn''t change a thing. I was aiming for 150 when I started (I''m 5''10") but I don''t think I''ll be able to really get there. I''m pushing for 170 realistically, 160 hopefully, and 150 delusionally. http://shrinking-sara.tumblr.com I have a gallery of my progress pics here: http://imgur.com/a/6EoIg

My Goals:
Always drink at least 15 glasses of water a day (I'm usually good, but sometimes it slips...)

To be a "oneder" (aka--under 200 lbs) by the end of the year. **Accomplished 12/11

My Program:
I'm eating smart. This doesn't mean no chocolate and only veggies though. I try to balance my calories and meals while eating healthy 85-90% of the time.

I spend a lot of time on my core doing situps and using a balance ball to help prevent my sciatica from coming back (when you have sciatica at 23--you've got issues!). I also try and walk fast on my treadmill a few times a week on at least a 5% incline.

Seeeriously it hurts so bad. I've had to pull out my size 16 work pants again.. my size 14 jeans...ugh! Big shirts again... hate it. And I SERIOUSLY forgot how uncomfortable being fat is...I shaved my legs yesterday, and UGH it was so awkward and awful and I wanted to cry by the end of it. HATE HATE HATE it. We are the same weight (just about, I'm 205) so I know exactly how you feel. And I gained it so fast, ugh ugh ugh!! I DID manage a workout yesterday, but did HORRIBLE with food (chips, cookies, marshmallows, grilled cheese, soda)... so my goal today is to do good with both exercise AND food.. we will get this back and be back on track and rockin it in no time.

You know the cost of surgery is ALWAYS in my mind. It's been one year since then and I have to get out of this constant fear that I will gain all my weight back and waste the money from having it! I had the dang surgery to be more confident NOT to stress me out more! :) I think I just need a break. I'll weight once a month and go from there! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this crazy sometimes!

Thanks for the blog comment! I'm definitely not worried about the sand. I don't think you should be too concerned about your outdoor wedding at the zoo either. Don't let your mom give you too much grief. My thought is, we wear these big fancy, usually expensive gowns for ONE day. It isn't like we are going to be wearing it again and again. So if it gets a little dirt on it during the ceremony, who cares? If the ceremony is what you've always wanted and if at the end of the day you end up married to the man you love, then who cares about some dirt on the dress!

Okay, sorry that turned into a half rant/half words of encouragement.
