Lady with the Shrinking Pants

hello I am new here and I am eager to make friends and/or reach out to those who want to live their best lives by managing their weight.

I've been in a life-long struggle with my weight. It has limited me in a lot of areas in my life. Being overweight is slow death for me. i realized I do not want to allow it to limit me now when obviously i can do something about it I signed up for the gym in March of this year and have been making good choices for my health and I feel great! ...

My Goals:
My immediate goal is to get my weight down to 200 by Dec 2010 and willfully down to an ideal weight in the future. I just got tired of doubting myself with my ability to face my weight issues.

My Program:
Aside from joining the gym, I have started counting calories and making better choices with food. I started a blog with tumblr where I sort out my emotions, my concerns, tips, articles, quotes---it's there. And now I am with sparkpeople to learn a lot more, be inspired of hopefully inspire someone someday too.

"Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow." (Douglas Pagels)

Enjoy your holiday weekend with your loved ones. It's like one of the last outdoor celebrations before the chilly weather moves in. Get out enjoy some fun in the sun and maybe a great BBQ!

Have a great holiday!

It's challenge time again diva! August is coming to an end and that means a brand new team challenge for September. School is starting back up again and many of us are also getting ready to commit to ourselves full time again. These past few weeks we've had many new divas join, so we're all on the same page with starting fresh in September. The team challenge this month is called, "Diva University", it has several subjects (sections) to do, to be successful on your journey. It's time to become that DIVA we've always wanted to be. So check out the challenge and join in.

It's time to become Divalicious!

Buon Giorno Diva!!!

The weekend is just about here. How are you going to spend it? Falling off the wagon or staying on and holding tight? I found a great quote that rings true to all those small things we do. Think about that when making food choices this weekend. Have a good one!

"From small beginnings come great things." (Proverb)

Ain't that the truth? Too many times we're all looking at the big picture on not focusing on the little things that make the big picture possible. Take time to look at the little things each day because those little things when put together will bring the success in the end. So when you tell yourself that one piece won't hurt or that you'll eat better tomorrow, stop yourself and make the healthier and the right choice. We have to start somewhere, why not start right now? Let's conquer the dreaded weekend and make it happen this time. We can all do it! Ciao!

"Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later." (Og Mandino)

My Diva Two Cents: Too many time we're always wanting it to happen right now. We watch the weight loss shows and see those big numbers each week and wonder why we can't do that. Be realistic in your goals. Instead of always saying I lost a pound or two, rejoice in that. Every bit no matter how big or small that you contribute to your weight loss journey will lead you to success at the end.

Have a great weekend Diva! Be Well!

Good Morning Divas! TGIF!

I'm doing a drive by on your page right now to let you know that our new August challenge called, " Adventures in Food " will start on Sunday, August 1st. For the month we will be challenging ourselves to have a better and healthy relationship with food. If you're interested in the challenge and want to get a better control with your food habits then come check out the new challenge on the main team page under the challenge section. I'd like to leave you with some food for thought.

"People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas." (Author Unknown)

Have a great weekend!
