Hi! I lost 65 pounds on Weight Watchers about 5 years ago, but have gained most of it back. So I'm back at SparkPeople trying to get back to where I was -- and then continue losing because I have a really long road to travel. I'm tweaking my strategies, too.

My Goals:
I have lots of weight to lose. I didn't gain it overnight and I won't lose it overnight. My main goals are to "regain control", get healthier, more fit, to feel more energetic and self-confident. I want to reduce the stress and wear & tear on my body, particularly my knees and feet. I'm confident that weight loss will effect some positive changes in other areas of my health as well. I'm trying to work with a short term weight loss goal by Thanksgiving. After that, I'll set a new short term goal, etc. I am re-thinking how aggressive my goals have typically been, and how I've failed to achieve them. I need to be realistic, but I need to move forward!

My Program:
I have to get back to committing to track my food, and continue to get to the gym 3-4 times per week.

Personal Information:
I live in rural Connecticut.

Thank you for adding me as a friend. I have done likewise. How are you tracking your food? Do you use this site or another or just write it down? It might be helpful to make your nutrition tracker public (I know it's scary to have someone else look at it)that way if you are having problems nutrition wise someone may be able to help you with it. I try to go to the gym 5 days a week. So far it has been helping me in my maintenance. In this past month the only times I have not gotten there at least 5 days a week was due to travel time (I am out in Hamilton MT with my youngest sister until Aug) and I recently hurt my back. I just got back in the gym yesterday. I am adding things slowly as not to strain my back. If you have any questions or you need any help please don't hesitate to contact me. Spark mail would be good if you have questions or problems. Have a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi, glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. My day was really nice also. Being with family is always a fun time. I also overate, so do not feel bad. We can do this and we will get back on track. You can leave me a comment on my page or also use Spark mail, whenever you want to or whatever is easier. Hope your Christmas decorating and plans are all going well. All the best in the weeks ahead. We can do it and we will succeed. God bless.

19 pounds down already! It takes a lot of guts to lose weight, gain it back, and come back fighting again. You've got this. emoticon
