Living by the feelings rather than the numbers

I'm a 40-something single professional who, like many, has struggled with my eating and weight all of my life. Things have gotten even more complicated in the past several years after developing chronic migraine, which has brought lots of medication, forced dramatic diet changes, and has made it virtually impossible for me to do much in the way of exercise. Things have gotten even more complicated in the past several years after developing chronic migraine, which has brought lots of medication, forced dramatic diet changes, and has made it virtually impossible for me to do much in the way of exercise. Lots of stress this past year has led to my eating getting more and more out of control, and I'm trying to rein it back in by tracking my food, reducing portions, and cutting back on sweets. Although I could stand to lose a good bit of weight, I'm not focused on that as much as I am on my health and my emotional well-being.

Hi there... the migraines make it really hard to stay on track, I know... but do you find they are less severe and/or less often the more exercise, eating right & good sleep you get? I have had migraines my whole life, I remember them from as early an age as 4yrs old, I have tried every medication there is I am sure, but nothing lasts... the last couple years after doing some research on my own, I decided to try incorporating large amounts of magnesium into my diet.... (I learned that many migraine sufferers are magnesium deficient)... it seems to be making a difference for me, I still get them, but not as bad... migraines are a huge challenge for sure, but we have to keep getting back on track each time we get de-railed.
