Finding a Balance

I've always been the curvy one of my friends, so I never worried too much about my weight or how I looked next to my friends. I was a little on the heavier side of average, but that was as much because of genetics as poor habits. So I was quite surprised when I realized just how much weight I'd gained. After eight years of bad habits, I am ready to move on and start living a better life!

Update July 2013:
I am one year away from my 30th birthday, and I weigh more now than I ever have. I've been using Spark People sporadically for the last five years, but I've never been as serious about it as I should be.

I don't want to spend my 30s the way I spent my 20s- in increasingly large clothes. So I won't. I am going to change my life, and it's going to be this year.

Ultimately, I would like to lose 120 pounds. It seems like a pipe dream sometimes, but I know I can do it.

Starting weight (7/23/13): 263 pounds
Goal Weight: 136 pounds

I do have a real-life accountability buddy who will hopefully help me stay on track. I'll be posting regular updates on my progress and how I'm feeling. My goal right now is to post daily, but if not daily, then hopefully every other day.
