Coming Late to the Party

I'm 42 and I have been overweight all my life. I always told myself that I'd lose the weight one day. Well, one day didn't come until I looked at my beautiful 13 year old daughter and realized she was following in my footsteps on the path to obesity. So, now here I am, late to the party (so to speak), but determined to learn new, healthy habits in hopes that she will change course and follow me down this path instead.

Hey there! Welcome to Spark, and welcome to Team 40 Somethings!! Check in everyday if you can, on the Daily Chat thread. You will make spark friends, and get alot of support and great ideas. It is the best team I have been involved with..

I can't say enough about Spark People..it is a great source of support, information and encouragement. It is a great thing you've done by joining, and putting yourself first!! For most of us, putting yourself first is the only way the weight is going to come off and changes inside and out occur!!

Blog, blog, blog...it is a great way to get things out, and really understand who we are and why we do the things we do - why we have issues with food - those realizations really help the change to occur!! And read your team mate's blogs - maybe you have some ideas or support you can offer, and hey, we all can learn alot from each other, and realize we are not alone on our journeys...

Look forward to getting to know you better..
