So I have been battling with my weight for some time now. I have tried all different types of things and I have seen great progress with a bunch of those but nothing that I could stick with as a permanent lifestyle. My Brother-in-law used to joke as we met for family dinners at my parents "what diet you on this week" and that the progress I had been seeing was probably because I was changing it so often that it had no time to really lapse.

I have lost about 80lbs since high school and have seen many fluctuations. People if they see me today would have never guessed that I had weighed 230lbs in high school, but I remember all to dearly. I would associate my weight with depression I quit my competitive sports nature after junior high and I would have to say that was my biggest regret. Even though I have made it back to a healthy weight there were a few blunders that I made along the way which have long term repercussions mostly from improper training.

Now I am not to obsessed with my weight, not in pounds at least, I care more about how I carry it. I have seen fluctuations where after I began exercising again I stepped on the scale and my weight had increased by 15lbs, but I felt better and looked better so I don't put much stock in the scale. Instead I look more towards what physical feats I am able to accomplish and try adding more things to that list. Spark people has been helping me stay on track and has been a great motivational force in my new approach towards a healthy lifestyle,( I especially love the nutrion tracker) and so far it has been my longest approach.
