Tired of this fat!!!

I am a 50 yo female that needs to lose 90 lbs.( have this down to 45 lbs, yeah halfway there) I live in Northeast Ohio, married for almost 32years, and have 3 daughters and 1 son. My goal was to lose 40 lbs before my hysterectomy in Nov. 2007 (which I acheived). I am 12 months post hyster and I have gained it all back. I am now ready to get serious again. (now over two years and down 45 lbs)

I am trying a different approach now. I saw a segment on the news about ...

I am trying a different approach now. I saw a segment on the news about calorie restriction. I have done some research on it and am willing to give it a try. I am settling with a gradual weight loss per their recommendations. I am not so interested in the longevity aspect of the life style as I am warding off chronic diseases ( I guess the avoidence of these diseases will add years to my life).

I still "try" to restrict the calories but also started to follow a low fat plant based diet. I am at a stand still right now but haven't given up. I have been at the same weight for around 6 months, but the important part is I haven't gained.

My Goals:
My short term goal is to get out of the obese catagory. I need to be at a weight of 174 to acheive this.

My long term goal is to weigh 140lbs and avoid the diseases of old age.





My Program:
I I haven't been tracking my nutrients since starting the McDougall program.



I try to walk/run/swim for 30 min or more five times a week. I have now added Yoga to my fitness routine.

Personal Information:
I am from NE Ohio. I have been married since 1978 and have four children, three daughters and one son. As of july4, 2009, a son-in-law.

Other Information:
I am an avid cross-stitcher. As a RN I would like to set a good example. I have radically changed my diet since reading books by Paul Mcglothin and Meredith Averill, T. Colin Campbell, John McDougall, and Caldwell Esselstyn.

I"m not in the study yet. I was just accepted if that's why you're asking.

I just got the call the other day that I was accepted, I"m waiting for someone to call me about scheduling my first appt to see if I"ll be in the diet and exercise group or the control group. Either way, I already diet and exericse. ha.

I"ve lost 41 lbs though, having nothing to do with the study.
