ShinningStarr fights hypothyroid & thyroid cancer

I have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and have had two thyroid surgeries. I am determined to NOT gain weight, and to loose some extra pounds. Is this possible? I am going to try with the help of my Spark Friends.

1/1/2011- I have added the 27 pounds I have gained since my surgery in June 2010 to my weight scale so I can share my progress. OK, here we go.

My Goals:
My goal is to not only NOT gain weight as a result to thyroid surgery and current lact of thyroid replacement theraphy, but to loose MANY unwated punds.

My Program:
I am drinking a lot of water, exercising daily and eating less. I am trying to follow a low fat diet. Sounds simple, but evey day I make small decisions that effect my long term outcome.

I cannot thank you enough for such a kind and thoughtful response to my blog! I have found my solace and strength in nature again and spend about 4-6 hrs a week hiking. I have regained a bit of weight too.....it's disheartening but we are both so much more than a number on a scale. we will get there!
